Have Morrison or trish ever talked about this? Yeah I remember Trish speaking about it shortly after it happened:
I remember there was an interview Trish did where she mentioned there was a plan for a photo of after the match of her, Morrison, and Snookie and when she went to initiate John blew her off and for a moment she didn't know how to react.

I suspect Melina was annoyed, & he was showing to her he was on 'her side'. Still dumb, though, we all know who makes the calls in WWE.

It was Kelly and Drew who got booted out of the angle for Morrison and Snooki. Melina was never in the equation so them assuming she was suggested (at the time, and now) that Morrison is now the sharpest knife in the drawer. Yes, I was f***ed off at McIntyre getting dropped from the storyline he was involved in. I am consistent! So they were going to turn Drew face as the pay off the whole "Kelleh I've changed my ways" backstage segments they were doing? I do remember the rumored Mania card around January-February having Drew and Kelly against Ziggler and someone else. I think it might have actually been Vickie. Or it might have been McCool or maybe both Laycool teaming with Ziggler to make it a handicap match I can't remember. I remember finding it odd as McIntyre had strictly been a heel at that point but maybe they were planning a face turn for him. Either way he ended up falling out of favor and ended up in the doghouse around that time and was demoted to lowercard heel JTTS which is a role he would be stuck in for the rest of his first run. I do remember Edge coming to Kelly's defense instead and squashing Drew who somehow ended up aligned with Vickie for a Smackdown basically as a fill in for Dolph who had been kayfabe suspended for attacking Teddy Long. Wouldn't surprise me if they were planning a Drew face push but then when fell out of favor likely for the Tiffany incident (which by most accounts seemed to be more her fault then his) they scrapped it. I do remember his decline being very surprising and out of nowhere as went from someone who was pushed pretty hard and consistently and given a lot of focus throughout 2009 and 2010 to being lowercard afterthought who by the end of the year was losing frequently on Superstars to the likes of Zack Ryder. It was really odd. Kelly was getting harassed by Vickie Guerrero for interfering at the Rumble (after Vickie had been mean to her in weeks leading up). Of all the people to say "yo, bullying's a bit mean" it was the heel who had been pushed down the card. McIntyre would get into trouble with Guerrero/Ziggler until he wound up in the Elimination Chamber. (And the story was Kelly didn't trust McIntyre before he was a big nasty heel.) At the Chamber, a face promo by McIntyre was interrupted by the face world champion Edge who told him he was an idiot for caring about Kelly. McIntyre got props for his in Chamber performance. And then immediately on the next Smackdown they had Kelly and Edge take on Vckie and Drew (yes) with Vickie's job on the line, and Vickie's team lost when Edge pinned McIntyre. And the very next week, they had Edge complete squash McIntyre to end his part of this feud. Also Kelly Kelly was not around either. Whereas Vickie and Ziggler showed up a week after this on RAW and just totally ignored their storylines of the past 3 months and started arguing about Tough Enough, which led to the very last minute 6 person tag. They did seem to want to try Drew in a babyface role but then they ended as soon as he got praise (online and backstage) for his performance in the role! The Tiffany incident was in August 2010 and his push did die a death after it. They got drunk, an argument started, she got arrested when folk called the police after hearing a domestic incident, seemingly she hit him but he didn't hit her. Tiffany got fired and McIntyre got punished for not hitting her back, basically. I am boiling it down to the gist there but yes, the entire situation was as f***ed up as it sounds.

Trish is liked and respected in WWE and treating her like that probably killed John's reputation.

Getting punished and demoted for not striking a woman. What a profession. I seriously wonder how much truth there was to that I hope none. I do remember also hearing before the domestic incident on Rumor sites that he was teased by the other wrestlers and nicknamed Avatar which was a big movie around that time as oddly kind of resembled the main character in it and was being controlled by someone else (Tifffany). I could see Vince with what's known about him souring on him for that in that he was letting a woman be the "alpha" in a relationship. That's ridiculous too but much better then getting mad at him for not striking their wife.

(I was being uncharitable about the unspoken "how the f*** did they expect him to stand up for himself" bit) But either way its really f***ing toxic.

Trish is liked and respected in WWE and treating her like that probably killed John's reputation. Considering that before that his reputation was for being the guy that third wheeled on Melina's dates with Batista while Melina was still dating him (John), I don't know if the Trish thing was better or worse for his reputation.

I don’t buy the Melina thin. They clearly were at odds over who had the nicest ass.

I just love that Vince apparently doesn't think Morrison would look believable winning a fight, but lets his son go to toe to toe with the Undertaker and beat up a former MMA fighter.

I feel that he never got over the whole rumored Batista thing in 2006. Made to be looked like a cuck I guess was a label he never got over.
