I was listening to a Review of Wrestlemania 27 by Wai Ting and John Pollock and they mentioned this cold shoulder situation at Wrestlemania 27.
What was the deal with Morrison being angry with Trish at the time? I know it was Morrison/Snooki/Stratus vs. Laycool and Dolph. It was mentioned he felt Stratus took a spot on the roster that should've gone to someone else. With her retorting she was selected for this slot because of tough enough.
Did we ever know who Morrison was referring to here? And in the end, didn't it just make him look silly?

Trish's spot was suppose to go to Melina.

Here’s the thing, Melina had turned heel by then and was off the back of a losing feud against Natalya. She was out the company later that year if I remember correctly.
Seems a bit weird for her to be eyed up for the celebrity match spot unless they wanted to harken back to the MNM days.

The timeline didn't make sense for Johnny boy to want Melina on his side as she was a heel and wasn't even promiently featured anymore. Him throwing this shade at Trish made no sense at all for what they were trying to accomplish at the time. Maybe if he was acting this way, maybe Morrison should've been swapped out with someone who was more fair game at the time. Christian would've worked, since he had no match at the show, which itself was a waste.

There was the Melina stuff and IIRC I also remember him being annoyed because they had super little time to begin with and Trish and Michelle McCool basically ate up all the ring time after starting the match before it was time to go to the finish with Snooki getting her shine spots and going over. As a result Morrison, Ziggler, and Layla all never even tagged into the match and all did pretty much nothing.
Honestly although I think he was being petty with the Melina stuff I do think Morrison had a right to be annoyed for the ring hogging. Wrestlemania is like the All Star game in that every one should get to play. However due to Trish and McCool's selfishness they took that away from some people. Granted they only had a little over three minutes which obviously isn't a lot of time but there was a way to structure it where at least everyone would get a chance to get in there and get shine. Like have Morrison and Ziggler go the first minute, then Trish and McCool can do their sequence for the second minute, and then go to the finish with Snooki getting the pin on Layla. Would've been the best way to go considering the circumstances (short on time).

Morrison needed more time to never get over.

It was never going to be Melina. If anything, I would say that possibly Snooki took a spot from Kelly Kelly, who WAS involved in an angle with LayCool and Dolph at the time. But even then, that had basically cooled off once they started the build to Edge/Del Rio at Mania, since the point of the feud was over the World Heavyweight Championship. But she would've at least made more sense than Melina.
I mean, if we're talking who deserved it, it should've been Natalya and Beth, but that's neither here nor there.

I remember Edge giving Morrison the cold shoulder after he retired when everyone backstage was applauding him. I remember people saying it was because how he treated Trish.

This is her polite Canadian way of calling Morrison a dumbass.

It was Kelly and Drew who got booted out of the angle for Morrison and Snooki. Melina was never in the equation so them assuming she was suggested (at the time, and now) that Morrison is now the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Yes, I was f***ed off at McIntyre getting dropped from the storyline he was involved in. I am consistent!

So they were going to turn Drew face as the pay off the whole "Kelleh I've changed my ways" backstage segments they were doing? I do remember the rumored Mania card around January-February having Drew and Kelly against Ziggler and someone else. I think it might have actually been Vickie. Or it might have been McCool or maybe both Laycool teaming with Ziggler to make it a handicap match I can't remember. I remember finding it odd as McIntyre had strictly been a heel at that point but maybe they were planning a face turn for him. Either way he ended up falling out of favor and ended up in the doghouse around that time and was demoted to lowercard heel JTTS which is a role he would be stuck in for the rest of his first run. I do remember Edge coming to Kelly's defense instead and squashing Drew who somehow ended up aligned with Vickie for a Smackdown basically as a fill in for Dolph who had been kayfabe suspended for attacking Teddy Long. Wouldn't surprise me if they were planning a Drew face push but then when fell out of favor likely for the Tiffany incident (which by most accounts seemed to be more her fault then his) they scrapped it. I do remember his decline being very surprising and out of nowhere as went from someone who was pushed pretty hard and consistently and given a lot of focus throughout 2009 and 2010 to being lowercard afterthought who by the end of the year was losing frequently on Superstars to the likes of Zack Ryder.

I get if Morrison felt annoyed about either the blocking of the match (there's no way a celebrity match wouldn't likely be laid out as to what would happen, so he probably knew before ever going out there he would be doing jack shit) or Melina not being involved, but neither of those sound like Trish's fault. Sounds like him taking out his problems on someone higher up by lashing out at her. Like, I do doubt Trish saw certain things planned and said, "No, delete all of their stuff and give it to meeeee", so it does definitely sound like getting angry at the wrong person.

I could understand Morrison being upset at her if she went into business for herself and took up more in ring time then she was supposed to. I don't know if that was the case or more how the agent for the match structured it but it wouldn't surprise me as Trish wasn't going to be there the next day and McCool was married to Undertaker and was on her way out anyways so it's not like either were going to have worry about consequences. However going by that excerpt posted from that Trish interview it appears Morrison was kind of being a jerk to her even before the match. Going by some interviews I've heard of him Morrison seems like kind ofa weird and flaky guy IRL so him acting irrational and being a jerk to someone who did nothing to him doesn't surprise me that much.

When Drew Galloway returned to the Indies in 2014, it was as a face and he found his current character and improved hugely. If he gets that face push in 2011, does he improve as much as he did when he went back to ICW?

If he gets that face push in 2011, does he improve as much as he did when he went back to ICW? I never saw any of his indy stuff so it's hard for me to say. I do think he would've fared well and got more over as a face then he did as a heel mainly because he would've been allowed to show off his tremendous athleticism (which I didn't know he had until his second run in WWE when he started to showcase it as I was only familiar with his previous WWE where just worked a plodding heel style) and I they would've taken the reigns off him a bit. Other then flashes of potential here and there in some matches against guys like Christian and Kofi, I wasn't a fan of his work at all during his chosen one heel push in 2009-2010. Just very bland and basic stuff where he would just slowly beat guys down with his boring mundane offense consisting mainly of punches and kicks and rest holds before winning with his admittedly cool looking Future Shock DDT finish which was like his one good move and the only thing I liked about him during his run. It seemed like around 2011 he started opening his repertoire up more and started to come off as much more impressive but that's also when they stopped pushing him so it didn't matter. I thought he just simply wasn't good but I remember people on here at the time who some of his previous indy stuff saying he was capable of doing much more but WWE was dumbing him down. After how great he's been in his second run I would say it was more them dumbing him down. Granted he's probably improved a lot too just mainly from being more experienced but he also likely always had it in him to be good which through most of his first run in WWE didn't seem like the case to me.

Yeah the only saving graces were Triple H-Taker, Orton-Punk and to a smaller extent Cody vs. Rey.
