Within the right context, they are OK, like they were in NJPW as part of the BC.
But without that, I've never really enjoyed them without a supporting cast in the ring.
Even this current run in Impact is just ugh. They feel like hangers on whereever they show up.

WWE had absolutely no idea what to do with them.
Gallows and Anderson made the most of every opportunity they got and were entertaining in the WWE style in every outing.

Were they ever booked to be big deals? I know in Japan they were, in the admittedly small sample size of the time I saw them in WWE they were pretty much just "2 bald guys who are friends with AJ."
Hard to live up to hype if you're just random henchmen.

There was hype?
I literally can’t physically believe that people were actually excited for them considering every single one of their tag matches in New Japan were butt garbage

I don't blame anybody for floundering in WWE, but since they also didn't live up to the hype in AEW, I think it's the same issue as Matt Bloom. Guys who make it in Japan as big gaijin usually aren't going to be able to give off the same aura in the US. Vader was a rare exception.
(To an extent, Killer/Karrion Kross outside of Mexico is in a similar position, IMO.)

They're great as henchmen. Why didn't WWE give us The Club/Balor Club with all their former Bullet Club guys when Bullet Club was the hottest thing in wrestling? Who knows. And if they hate tag teams why not a return of Festus?
For the record, I didn't feel like they floundered in AEW at all. They were guys being used part time from another company, and in a stable with the Young Bucks you're going to be the number two tag team regardless. They were good in their role.

Oh, the awful Tensai gimmick failed so badly it turned him into a meme, but folks on here were also complaining about how dull and plodding his matches were the whole run too, even against guys like Punk. He's a guy who stood out when working Japan, but in an environment where his look and size don't stand out as much, his ceiling is an undercard act like Albert.

They're fine in Impact, especially since they're part of Bullet Club again. They work well as Jay White's new muscle tag-team.

Albert needed to have more matches with guys like Sheamus, a fun hard hitting hoss match. For some reason WWE likes their big guys to work a dull and plodding style

Yes, they were exactly as underwhelming as their New Japan work promised.

They gave us Southpaw so they were worth it for that alone. I don't think WWE ever really knew what to do with them, they just weren't the kind of guys Vince likes using. They're probably where they should be right now.

They're over with the boys in the back, and they're smart about who they are associated with, which means they're constantly given opportunities in various companies.
Finn Balor, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega. They choose who to team with very wisely.
I've never been a fan of them though, and it feels like most crowds are of the same opinion.

When Tensai was kinda forgotten about, he started knocking it out of the park against guys like Sheamus and Ryback. But when he was being pushed, they wanted him to be "slow and methodical" which ALWAYS kills the crowd, no matter who does it. I actually liked the Tensai gimmick cause it was colorful and had a New Generation type vibe to it which I loved. I thought he could've been another Vader. What was stupid was him pretending to be Japanese, like speaking Japanese in promos and shit. The gear was fine but he should've just been Giant Bernard, running over dudes and dishing out powerbombs.

I think Anderson and Gallows were/are good at what they do, but that they were sort of presented incorrectly and sometimes overused for the wrong things.
Like, they weren't the Shield or the Road Warriors. They don't have the kinds of movesets that having them come in, beat everybody up, and ravage really benefits. They look tough and all, but that is not playing to their strengths.

At the end of the day it’s always Fake Kane, Festus, Luke Gallows. The ceiling is only so high.
I think some of their draw they were one act that skipped going back to NXT when they returned/debut.
There’s only so much hype you can have being a 2010s tag team.
At least they got to be involved in takers last match.

The gear was fine but he should've just been Giant Bernard, running over dudes and dishing out powerbombs. Problem was that he couldn't use the Elevated Sitout Powerbomb he used in Japan because Undertaker was still active and using The Last Ride. His moveset was limited by the WWE, which made it even harder for him to get over.

Probably not but I liked them as AJ's goons and I thought they worked well as a bruiser smash mouth team in the tag division. Although Karl Anderson had quite possibly the most non descript look for a wrestler I think I've ever seen.
