I'm sure that means the world to Terry. After his family, wrestling is his main love. He is such a sweet, kind man to the fans. He loves us and we love him. He gave so much to us and deserves anything we can give him. Terry has given a lifetime to us!
He gave us his body and soul at shows for decades in the ring and if we met him, he never treated us like marks at autograph shows and he was just out for a pay day, he treated us like we matter because we DO matter to him. If anyone ever got to meet him in person, he treated you like the most important person in the world. I wish we could all get one second to tell him how much we care about him. But I know a PWI shows him how much everyone cares.

Had no idea Funk wrestled as recently as 2017. Last 5 years have been really rough on him. Some guys just look the same forever...and then suddenly have a few year stretch and just age 20 years. Funk I think never changed from late 40s to early 70s

I had a few "favorite" wrestlers growing up, but as I became a teenager and more aware of what I really liked. Terry was my favorite. I discovered him via ECW, and I always loved the old crazy cowboy bastard gimmick. Loved how even being middle aged he was down to wrestle the ECW style and all that.
If anyone deserves it, it's Terry.

Man it's so weird seeing a clean shaven, bald Terry Funk
God bless him though, he more than earned that

There will never be another one anywhere near a Terry Funk.

I appreciate your good words. I would love to post my picture of him with my friend Nikolai but don't know how to on here. I had a photo of me with him from 2011 that looks like I lost to computer issues and I think in both photos, 2011 and one from 2016, he had his arms around me, he is that Roddy Piper physical friendliness type of guy.

Terry Funk comes off as the one man in wrestling who never got bitter about the business. He understood that the business was going to change and evolve. He's a genuinely good man, who gave up his spot as NWA champion and best paid wrestler in the world to try to work out his marriage issues. This happened in the 70s and the two were together until her death in 2019. I truly think that Terry Funk in and out of the Wrestling business, he's a man that everybody could learn something from. He's one of the few genuine role models of pro wrestling.

And he was mid 40s, but looked better than he did during his WWF run a few years earlier

And very well deserved it is too. A legend in the sport and, from what I’ve heard, an absolute gentleman to fans outside the ring.
God bless you, sir.

I was lucky enough to meet Terry 2 or 3 times over the years and he was always completely awesome. Just warm and friendly and would take time with each and every fan, sometimes to the point of holding up the whole signing. The fans didn't care, and while the staff would eventually try to get him to move it along, they did so gently and reluctantly.
My dad still tells the story about being on the elevator at the hotel, the door opening, and seeing Terry Funk step in. Terry immediately put his hand out and said, "Hi, I'm Terry Funk!" Dad shook his hand and said, "Yeah, I know who you are!" Terry replied, "Well, dadgum it, I wanna know who YOU are!"
Between the amazing career that he had and the person that he is, Terry deserves any wrestling accolade that can ever be given.
