Evolution was one of the better PPV's the year it came out. I'd be up for another.

It was a cracking show. Even as a booster of women's wrestling I didn't think they could pull it off and it ruled.

I always said them never touchign the concept after Ronda left really showed how empty it really was. If they run it now to appease Ronda? Man that shit's more hollow than the earth.

Which ignores the whole thing of it being right after a Saudi show and not long before Survivor Series so of course it was going to bomb if it wasn't seen as a priority show (and watching at the time...it was not).

I know it gave us Batista but was it worth the pain of HHH reign of terror and Blandy Boreton?

This. The whole show should be proof to the "Women's Revolution" being a total farce. It didn't bring it blood money. It wasn't one of the big four (although I'm not sure Survivors Series even counts as that anymore). It was an afterthought thrown together with little hype. The women gave it their all and put on a great show but the company wasn't behind it. It was almost as if Vince wanted an excuse to say, "Women's wrestling doesn't draw."

I mean - it did a pretty good attendance number. A bunch of regular shows have done far worse. And that's really the only indicator we have. Given all of the other weird gimmicks they try to pull out for each "Premium Live Event" - it makes sense to do another one.

Evolution had everything set against it. It was 2-3 weeks after the blood money show, 2-3 weeks before Survivor Series and had almost no build because the focus had been on the aforementioned blood money show. There's also the fact that WWE had spent years telling us women's wrestling didn't matter and had only recently half heartedly told us otherwise.
With all that against it, Evolution was one of the best PPVs that year. The women had spent that year showing that when given the ball they would run with it like Forrest Gump and this was the height of that. They went out and put on a phenomenal show. The fact that next to nothing came of that is damn near criminal. I've wanted another Evolution for quite some time but I honestly don't know if they have the roster for it now and if it's just going to be buried between two other PPVs again, I don't know if it's worth it.

I think the big problem fora second one is they fired a lot of the division.
of the 8 match card there are 3 matches where everyone is still employed 1 of them is a legends match, 1 of them I don't see getting put on a ppv at this point due to how little they seem to care about one of the participants, and the third is the most overdone match in all of the women's division.

They barely have enough women to fill a division anymore.
I'm here for it but they completely messed up the roster by releasing so many talents.

Now that women can wrestle in Saudi, there really isn't a need for it. They got a lot of women on that last Saudi card.

We can talk about the WM 35 main event itself underwhelming for various reasons (and honestly it still has some fun sequences and moments, but avoiding weapons after the build was an odd choice, the crowd was tired after a super-long show, and the closing Ronda/Becky sequence fell apart badly), but Becky/Charlotte putting on a classic at Evolution was surely a factor in women main-eventing WM 35 to start with.I see it as analogous to Sasha/Bayley at Brooklyn--neither was the main event (Finn/KO at Brooklyn, Ronda/Nikki at Evolution), but are by far the best-remembered match from each show. While Brooklyn showed women could main event Takeovers, Evolution showed they could main event Manias.

Right. Sometimes, WWE needs to just shut up and eat its vegetables. Run a different venue or otherwise tweak the concept, don't just give up on it.

Yeah, for as much as Charlotte/Becky got played out, they were putting on match of the year candidates for about 3 or 4 months that fall. Add to that the Charlotte/Ronda match being good and most of the undercard performing well, there was a lot to like in women's wrestling at the time.

And do a tie-in with a game. I'd absolutely play an all women's WWE Evolution.

This. Plus the thing with Charlotte/Becky is that it was only extended due to Nia punching Becky on the Survivor Series go-home, otherwise it would have been a self-contained feud ending at Evolution. Before that happened, Charlotte had a separate 'crisis of confidence' story going on.
