John Cena wins his first singles title, Deadman Taker returned and Eddie and Benoit celebrate in What I think was the best ending to a Mania ever, but unfortunately future events ruined it. Overall I think Mania 20 was dope as f***
Edit: oh and this was the Rocks last match in 7 years, Foley’s first in 4, and Orton/Batista/Cena all made their mania debuts

Wrestlemania 20 was great.
But yeah... the ending was tarnished to say the least...

We got a new cable box that weekend, and some of the channel names and information on the electronic programming guide didn’t match the actual channel. I ordered the show and when it was time to start, I got … nothing! Dad had to call the cable company and the show finally came on just as the opening video ended, with Vince and Shane holding Shane’s newborn son. Crazy how that kid, and his brothers, have appeared at a few WrestleManias since then.
This was back when the forum was on EZBoards, and I remember us discussing a rumor that WWE would debut a new logo at the show. That would have tied in perfectly with the “Where It All Begins … Again” tagline.
My brother, who isn’t a wrestling fan at all, came downstairs for a bit of the show and correctly predicted Trish’s heel turn.
I loved the entrance set for this show. I know I’m in the minority but I never liked when WWE used the small MSG entrance and the wrestlers entered from the top of the screen like an N64 game. This set was much more fitting for the company’s biggest show of the year; the Titantron on the stage floor looked amazing.

The stage was very reminiscent of the later HD-era setups, but just restrained enough that it didn't look like a giant LED board had puked on the entire arena.

It also contained a board member getting cheered over Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and Austin... (a member here was dressed as Hogan and was in the stands hotdoggin' and grandstanding... the best part was an audience member dressed as Savage started doing his taunts in response... also a terrible match happened at the time or something <_< >_>

I was so excited to find out deadman Undertaker was returning, because I thought it'd be the mid '90s purple gloves version.

The event also had The Rock's last match for 7 years.
More importantly it had Ultimo Dragon falling over twice during his entrance.

Mania 20 was a lot of fun. I remember being hyped to do all of the WrestleMania activities during the week at the time - meeting guys at Nobody Beats the Wiz and other stores (man, those were the days) but then I got a sinus infection that put me down for the whole week. i got healthy just in time to watch/enjoy the PPV. 18 years? Man.
It's also one of the last times I remember somebody feeling like "the next" guy with John Cena beating Big Show. They kinda just made Roman the guy even though it didn't seem like he'd be in that position based on Mania 30.

It's not the greatest Wrestlemania of all time (I think it's top 10) but it's arguably the one with the most Wrestlemania Moments(TM). Cena opening the show, solidifying himself as the future of the company and giving Big Show the FU when that was still special. Trish's heel turn on Jericho. The Rock's last match for almost a decade. The crowd reaction to Lesnar and Goldberg. Molly being shaved bald. The Deadman returning with Paul Bearer. And of course Eddie and Benoit celebrating at the end.
