I just finished a book that touched briefly on advertising, and the writer describes that up til the 1940s, nobody cared about diamonds. Then an advertising company came up with the slogan "diamonds are forever", and the rest is history.

Also they put out propaganda on artificial diamonds being inferior. Then they complain about millenials killing the diamond market when they wont play the game anymore.

Doesn't look like ads so much as just a digital representation of what's in the doors. I mean it looks nice a neat even if it's actually empty so there is that.

Can you open the doors while the ads are playing, or do you have to wait for the ad to finish? If the latter, what if someone is extremely parched and needs a drink then and there? Do they really have to wait 30 seconds to a minute? I can see that being discontinued fast.

While such a feature would be incredibly stupid and everyone would hate, if you need a drink right that very second, the store isn't the place for you, you should probably be at the hospital.

I wonder if the ad revenue from that offsets the cost of printing five-foot long receipts for every single item purchase.

I've seen something similar at liquor stores for a while. Usually its one cooler with larger cans of macro beers that I won't say

DeBeers created diamond advertising?
