Andre the Giant went from the Andre the Giant Life-Affirming Battle Royal at 2 (which was filled with a bunch of NFL players) to the biggest match in wrestling history at 3.

Back in 1986, the battle royal was booked as one of the three main events. Nowadays the battle royal is just a throwaway match used to give everyone a payday.

The Wrestlemania 2 battle royal was definitely a big deal compared to them now, but the point still stands. I think nearly 40 years later nothing quite compares to the Hogan/Andre showdown at WM3.
