I forget if I told the story here but at Starrcast, I was in the green room and my wife and I brought our then-one year old Zach. We’re standing with Jeff and Karen Jarrett and they’re playing with Zach and he’s having fun until he isn’t. Jeff says “man, it’s a shame Scotty isn’t here. He’d have him laughing and smiling.” Sure enough, Scott walks in, starts jaw jacking with Zach, posing at him, and then throws him up and all around. Zach is suddenly having the absolute time of his life. Jeff was right. Jeff explained that Scott used to have TNA pool parties and invite all the families. He’s great with kids and knows how to get them laughing. It’s almost as if someone can be a great person in one aspect of life and shitty in another

Legit question, Scott's been an absolute asshole to plenty of the boys, but has he ever done anything heinous to anyone outside of the business? I've never read stories of that. Outside of wrestling he seems pretty quiet. I know Todd (my friend Todd/OUR Todd) has met him a bunch of times and always gets him to do a free promo with him. You have guys like Bradshaw or Bob Holly who are pretty nice to fans at meet and greets or even free meets and it's a legit niceness and yet that were horrendous to rookies coming in or even experienced guys who were just starting with WWF. Some guys just have an attitude about "this business" and could be a nightmare. Buddy Lee Parker did an autograph signing circuit early this month, all smiles, nice to everyone and yet he was awful to WCW trainees and I do believe Batista story about the Power Plant. I think I'd rather read stories of these guys being dicks at autograph signings over them chopping the hell out of guys in ring (Holly), soaping them in the showers (Bradshaw), making guys barf during drills (Parker), sticking pencils up their butts (Steiner) and others who potentially could hurt jobbers just because they could. Bradshaw told me that he liked my positive attitude, despite all of my health stuff. He was very nice.

I went to a Chikara show in Orlando in 2017 before WM and afterward went to grab a bite at a nearby either Denny’s or IHOP, I forget which.
Main seating area was pretty full so they put me and my buddies at a table in kind of a large side room. We were the only ones seated there. And about 15 minutes later basically the entire Chikara roster comes in and takes up the rest of the room. I just told them ‘good show’ and gave a thumbs up and got several thank you’s, glad you enjoyed it, etc. That’s about it.
Oh, I did have a short conversation with the guy who wrestled Space Monkey in the walk-off match about his rotten luck of slipping on a banana peel and it costing him the match. He smiled and said, ‘That’s what you get for wrestling a f-ing monkey,’ lol.
(Of course most of them wrestle in costumes so I wasn’t sure who was who, but there were enough of the ones who weren’t masked that it was obvious they were all Chikara and all together.)
