I remember this guy was getting over with the crowd during tough enough. Then he did this and the reactions got even better. Then they killed this guy dead at the 2005 Rumble, because they had to "humble" him opposed to making a new star. So if WWE just rolled with the crowd reactions, do we have a new star on our hands here?

probably not, I dont think he would have lasted if he continued to go off script.
screwing with the bookers plans repeatedly is pretty much a quick way out of any company, vince wouldnt tolerate many wrestlers doing that (probably only 90's hbk got away with that.)

Prichard wanted Big Show out there for that segment, that way if Pruder tried something, it wasn’t happening, but Angle got the nod instead.

This. I think his there is a reason why he never made it after this. Why every place he went after the WWE released him and saw he was not worth the money.

From what I recall he wasn't very over in OVW. being able to legit break someone's arm when he least expects it doesn't really translate to being good at wrestling. And WWE are f***ing marks for sending Kurt into that situation.

And WWE are f***ing marks for sending Kurt into that situation. Wasn't over in OVW, wasn't over in ROH despite being part of Sweet and Sour Inc., and wasn't over in New Japan, despite teaming with Nakamura. I'm sensing a pattern here... There's also this peach of a quote of his recollection of his time in OVW:
