You’re not wrong, but all the same there’s something to the being famous over there doesn’t mean automatic fame over here Sure, it's also irrelevant to the ability of foreign names to get over. Being an American doesn't make you famous there either, being good at what you do does. By pidgeon holing an individual wrestler by purely their foreigner status, which you absolutely did do, is a bad take. They were just examples as names, like being so good in Japan doesn’t automatically mean you should be pushed to the moon here. And you’re absolutely right about the other way. Of course that’s true. But why would an a non hardcore fan of American wrestling say that the Four Kings are absolutely better than the Big 4 of the Attitue Era. For a lot of people the two names I mentioned meant nothing to them before WWE. That’s what I’m trying to say. Like a comment of something like “How did WWE ruin Nakamura and Asuka,” seems to be connected to their Eastern fame at least imo. To many that doesn’t matter.

I think with both the booking clearly f***ed them, especially Nakamura. Anyway, this could go on so putting in a pin in this chat here.

They were booked better than most up until a certain point

Are we not considering Taker part of the Attitude top 4? I feel like he’s done more than Foley I'm guessing he was left out as he didn't really have good chemistry with Rock and Austin in the ring.

Turning "some people don't know who these Japanese legends are" into some kind of weird apologetics for WWE's handling of Japanese talent when none of the Four Pillars of Heaven ever even worked for Vince is a choice, I guess.

It's clearly Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben. The other two are great, but you're missing that they're a family first and that's what makes them unique as adventurers, rather than just being another team.

Thank you. Ive never heard of the term four kings. I do know the four pillars though. I think we would be having a much different conversation if this poll was on (W)rest

For pure talent, it’s the Four Pillers and those guys style is still seen today. The Attitude Era guys were surely more popular worldwide.
I do question the omitting of Undertaker, because I feel he was a bigger star than either Triple H or Foley.

Are we not considering Taker part of the Attitude top 4? I feel like he’s done more than Foley If this is strictly based on in-ring chemistry then Austin/Rock/HHH/Foley makes sense. Every combination there had multiple classic matches during that era except probably Austin/Foley (I'd argue Austin/Dude Love at Over The Edge is a staple of glorious attitude era overbooking and is a classic though). Undertaker's matches with Austin/Rock usually underdelivered, he only really had one big match with HHH (on arguably the day the attitude era ended) and most of his best matches with Foley were in 1996, pre-attitude.

In pure pro wrestling terms not one of the attitude era 4,even stone cold,is fit to lace any of the four Kings boots in actual pro wrestling ability but personality and popularity and charisma obviously go towards the WWE guys.

HHH, Austin, Rock & Foley if the better foursome, IMHO.
