Yeah, I did short change William Goldsmith. Pretty sure he recorded most, if not all, of the original second album before him and Dave had creative issues and went their separate ways and Dave replaced most of his stuff. Not a slight on Goldsmith, just sometimes things don’t mesh like you hope. Performing together and creating together are two entirely different beasts Yeah, he had recorded the entire thing, and Dave kinda went back and redid them one by one behind his back. I think bits of his drums wound up on the album,, and he played all of 2 songs. It's like the only story of Dave doing something f***ed up, and he even admits he went about everything the complete wrong way. Dave actually DID offer Goldsmith the opportunity to stay in the band (with the caveat that Dave would play drums on TCATS and most likely the bulk of the recorded material moving forward), but Goldsmith was too hurt to stay. He wanted to be a part of a band, not just a hired gun. I'm not sure he's ever forgiven Dave, he definitely still seemed angry in his interviews in "Back and Forth". Can't say I blame him, but at the same time, the Foos would have never become what they did with him in the band, so.... Goldsmith only got credit on TCATS for Doll and the intro for Up in Arms. AKA the slowest tempos on the entire record. Grohl is one of my heros, and yeah, this is the only dick move I've ever heard of him pulling(and I lived in California for 6 years and met almost EVERYONE). But, I can understand his headspace at the time, and given his track record for the past near 30 years, I'll give him a pass. That said, I would love to hear the album with Goldsmith's original drum tracks. Anyway, back to Taylor. Two videos have surfaced. Him singing a cover of Queen's Somebody to Love with Dave on drums, and his final performance ever. You guessed it: Everlong And Dave intros it with "I don't like to say goodbye."

In completely understanding news, the band cancelled the rest of their tour dates. I’m still having trouble accepting this, so I couldn’t really care less about a refund for my tickets right now. Take time to grieve guys.

yeah, Taylor is a big role to fill with the Foo's. I wouldnt be surprised if the band takes a few years off at this point, get some therapy done too, its something I feel more bands that lost a member should have done before going on with a new member.

Not shocked that they would cancel the rest of the tour.
With a loss like this for the band, who knows what the future will be like for them? Or if they'll even be able to continue without him?

Freaking Rolling Stone wrote a terrible article saying that Taylor wanted to stop touring and “couldn’t do it anymore” based on an interview with Matt Cameron. Cameron retracted the article and is pretty mad about it.

Cameron retracted the article and is pretty mad about it. Chad Smith too. Metalsucks decided to throw a hissyfit about it by saying it's their job as journalists to publish everything, completely ignoring that the issue was that Matt and Chad got quotemined.
