Nah the bar on these matches have been set very high
WWE has hit a nice center with stars to use for the matches and celebrities willing to put in the work

The thing is, you just know wwe is going to deliver with these now.
The matches I was most excited for were Knoxville/Mcafee because wwe has earned the assumption that at the very least, the celebrity is going to go out there and be entertaining as all hell. and what do you know, both guys along with Logan Paul killed it

It’s ironic because of all the slack using celebrities gets but they all killed it.

It's kinda wild that the Celebs are currently outperforming people who have been in PC developmental with the company for several years, with way less time to develop, and just go out there and have great matches anyway
Idk if that's just as was mentioned the work being put in or how some of these peeps are a different breed, or that the style isn't as rigid for them and they're allowed to work freer matches given their statuses, but it says a lot that Azeez and Aliyah were in the PC for like 14 combined years and Knoxville just outworked both of them lmfao

Azeez and Aliyah aren't getting that level of guidance for a 5-minute raw match.

They probably should be though, especially after years, they should be fine tuning what works but... idk it just doesn't feel like it And Bunny and Pat have now had multiple good matches so it might not just be heavy scripts, they're just showing out and working well

Celebrity matches are rehearsed again, again, again and again and given every chance to get over
A regular wrestler has to stand out in the crowd of other wrestlers. The bar to be a great wrestler isn't high in a sea full of great wrestlers

Even if the standards of celebrity matches has risen, it’s still really low as well when it comes to actual wrestling standards. That’s because when a celebrity does well, everyone always seems shocked. And are more easily impressed when they are able to pull off moves you didn’t expect them to do.
Like, a classic example is the Bam Bam vs LT match. The match really isn’t anything to write home about wrestling wise, but everyone was impressed by Lawrence Taylor and it elevated an average match into something that’s entertaining.

I wonder who they're going to get next year. Could probably get Bad Bunny back assuming his touring is done It is really up in the air in regards to who wants to do it as I can't tell you I saw Johnny Knoxville coming to Mania a year ago

I wonder who they're going to get next year. Ollie Jayy’s going to end Bianca’s one year reign.

A motivated celebrity is usually the perfect storm of factors for WWE. One is that they will typically give way more of a shit into making somethign a big deal if it'll get them outside attention and so they'll put some real care into it, but then the flip side is that when a celebrity is passionate or at least open-minded and sees it as a fun trip, they'll put in that work to rise to the albeit lower bar, but the sheer spectacle will carry it. There's still few things worse than when WWE pulls in a bored looking celebrity to show up on a random Raw when they're treating it with all the enthusiasm of the worst leg on the press cycle for the new movie they're plugging at gunpoint, but WWE at its best presentation plays really well into celebrity matches when the celebrity is willing to go for it.

Absolutely. I think a big part of it is the celebrities themselves are huge fans that are willing to do insane shit because they love wrestling. Even in AEW we had Shaq crashing through tables

Logan and Knoxville did very well.
I wonder who they'll have next year? My guess is MGK and Mark Wahlberg somehow.

Johnny Knoxville had one of my favourite Wrestlemania matches of all time.
I have to pinch myself but it’s true.
