Mentioning him again somehow in this thread, but say Fritz had been the one who won expansion? Yeah I think Tony Khan might be pro wrestlings only decent hearted promoter in its history lol. Yeah, it's the spambots who said otherwise. But yes....do we get a boom period if it's someone besides Vince trying? If so, how?

I'm trying to think of somebody who never really did anything of importance that wouldn't cause a chain reaction that would change the business as a whole..........ummmmm.....Salvatore Sincere?

I've had Vince and the WWE as my least favorite promoter/promotion since, probably the Ruthless Aggression time frame.. but.. I don't know how good it would be without him ever in the picture. Goes without saying that what he did in the 80s laid the foundation for global exposure, and without that, you wouldn't have seen that massive explosion that happened in the mid/late 90s either. That's not to say someone else couldn't have pulled it off, but the question isn't replace five people, it's erase.
I'm not sure who exactly I would erase, as I'm not coming at this from a moral/behavioral view point but a historical.
I guess if I had to pick someone, or a few people.. I'd pick any of the guys that were in charge of canceling WCW during the AOL/Time Warner merger. Maybe that would've given WCW the chance to do the Big Bang and all that. Mightve still been shades of ass of WCW 2001 but maybe it could've been a turning point too. WCW essentially lost all good will with the fans at this point but who knows.

Don't know if I could add five that haven't been mentioned already, but I'd like to nominate Greg Dyke. Although never directly involved with wrestling, he was still the person responsible for booting wrestling off of ITV in 1988 for being 'too working class'. Admittedly, Joint Promotions insistence of having Big Daddy at the top of the card hadn't helped its cause in its final years, but with All-Star sharing the Saturday afternoon slot from '86 onwards there was always a chance that a better standard of wrestling would have prevailed with the likes of Regal, Dave Taylor, Fit Finlay etc leading the way.

Might save Kids' WB for awhile too.

You have the power to alter history by keeping five people from ever being involved in the wrestling business. All five go on to live comfortable lives, but never so much as get a passing mention in the industry. Who do you choose, and if you’d care to share, why? Meltzer, Keller, Conrad Thompson, Jose Gonzalez, Chris candido
