Wade Barrett definitely gonna brag about this somehow lmfao "Vic, I'll have you know that I have the #1 movie on Netflix. Netflix, if you want a movie that will never leave the number 1 spot, make The Call 2 starring me, Duke Hudson, and Toxic Attraction. I'm willing to budge on Toxic Attraction."

It's also on Tubi, in fact, if you go on the app, it's the first thing that shows up. Considering this is supposed to be the "best" of the WWE films catalog, at least its not something like Knucklehead or the Chaperone.

Hollywood left a lot of free money on the table with Halle Berry and unfairly wrote her off after how poorly Catwoman did. The fact that "The Call" which looks like a generic 80-90's crime thriller was a box office hit and is a #1 streaming film on Netflix almost a decade later is a credit to her drawing potential.

I actually went and saw this in theaters and I have no recollection what so ever of Barrett being in it. I remember David Otunga having a small role as a cop who is Halle Berry's husbands partner. Barrett I do remember having a small goon part in Dead Man Down with Collin Ferrell which was also a WWE movie. However with The Call it must have been very blink and you miss it.

My real memory of The Call was the film getting No 1 in the box office that week and WWE rewarding David Otunga by having him squashed by Ryback on Raw.
And yes, Wade Barrett was in Dead Man Down. Which had Sheamus feud with Barrett and burying his acting even though his role was literally "silent goon".
This company has a weird relationship with the content it makes.

Remember the movie where Rusev pointed a gun at Dolph in his wrestling gear?

It's weird they had this kind of attitude, especially since the films seemed to be financially successful, and some projects WWE got involved in like Oculus (even if it was after the fact) were well-received. Not sure why they had this bizarre disdain. I recall The Call being decent, if not particularly memorable.

And, like, it wasn't like they promoted it much at the time which made its success even more something to brag about but they just...didn't? It felt out of character for them. On the flipside, they promoted the second Bay TMNT movie off the back of Sheamus which very much wasn't a Universal/WWE Films movie and there wasn't anyone mocking heel Sheamus for playing a CGI character or anything and I have no idea how this stuff works when Sasha can't get anything for being in The Mandalorian.

Can't wait for WWE to put out a deranged graphic showing how The Call is the #1 movie in America or whatever like they did with that Superbowl thing

I was 7 when the Flintstones movie got released and seeing/witnessing Halle Berry in it was an experience worth a coming of age drama directed by Rob Reiner. That's my 2 cents.

I thought I was nuts, like I was sure that movie came out years ago and couldn't figure out why it was trending on Netflix.

Sasha gets nothing for The Mandalorian, Jinder's going for the IC Title and he's a regular on Big Sky and he's gotten nothing. WWE can get really petty about promoting when their wrestlers on something. If they get the role without WWE's help, they don't get promoted. Sasha's in good with Disney now, but WWE doesn't want to promote that. Jinder could become a character actor where he gets roles as the main villain's enforcer, but can't draw attention to that.
