We see too many storyline of "Theay beat me up only I joined them a few times later"
Has this ever worked?

Obscure one:
Zulu in WCCW gets beat by Crusher Yurkov (Bam Bam Bigelow), immediately joins Larry Sharpe's stable. But he gets to be Ricky Steamboat's one WCCW opponent out of that.

I thought Savage's heel run in the nWo was great, probably the best thing about his WCW tenure.
Plus it gave us Cougar Elizabeth.

Isn't that kinda what we just got with Wheeler Yuta? No that was more of an initiation because there was no real motive or heat kayfabe wise behind the beatings other than the energy of the situations themselves...I think the OP is searching for more Luger joining the Million Dollar Corporation after their BS examples...Plus there is no way Yuta doesn't benefit from a learning tree like that...geez

I'm admittedly not sure if you're asking for examples where someone gets beat up, so they join earnestly, or if you mean times they joined to undermine the group.
In the case of the former, I think that happened with Cedric Alexander joining Hurt Business, but I could be remembering wrong. Goto joined CHAOS after Okada beat him multiple times, something that admittedly helped his reputation as something of a choke artist for NJPW.
If we're talking times where the person joining did so to screw with them, there's CM Punk joining Elijah Burke's group and sowed discontent to make the group collapse.

Wasn't Dennis Knight/Phineas Godwinn basically abducted, beaten and "crucified," which turned him into an Undertaker disciple? And he stayed that way for a while after the Ministry was done.

That is how they recruited a few people and doesn't really count. They forcibly recruited people, they didn't beat them up until they decided 'ah f*** it'

OK I admit I asked drunkenly
I mean where storyline situations seem like "OH there's no way such and such is working for this group of bad guys because he just got jumped" only for the next week such and such joins them then the next promo was basically "I was approached by *group* and realized I could be doing better!"
The best example I can give top of my head is HHH joining the Corporation after Chyna low blowed him and turned on him to join them in the first place, or Trish joining Christian at WMXX because Christian being rough on her proved he was a "Real Man"

Cedric Alexander joining the Hurt Business
Man was getting his ass kicked every week with Ricochet.
Then Ricochet had to win a match so the Hurt Business would leave him alone.
This still cracks me up.

I may be misinterpreting your answer, so if I am, I apologize I’m advance. The OP was asking for instances that worked. Converse named the Savage/NWO one as an example of it working.

Maybe he saw many more beatings in his future, so he gave up early.

The Giant joined the nWo the first time immediately after Hogan beat him for the WCW Title.
