...as in, when Richard Dawson hosted (1976-1985). I got the idea from the "Hogan family" on the current run, mentioned on Off-Topic. Dawson I think was the only host not to have wrestlers on his show, oddly enough. (I think Richard Karn too...)

I remember in the Feb. 96 edition of WWE magazine, they had predictions for 1996. Some were obviously not meant to be taken seriously. One wasn’t was British Bulldog and Bret Hsrt appearing on the Family feud with Dawson (despite the fact that his show was cancelled by than.) Bret & Bulldog were at the face off podium and Richard asked: “Name the worst dressed person.” Bret said Bulldogs manager: Jim Cornette. That name was the number one answer. Bulldog reacts by power slamming Dawson and according to the magazine is never to be heard from again. Ironically both Dawson and Dave’s were from England.

Oddly enough, I think 1996 was the last time we really heard from Dawson. He helped host a GSN marathon of Family Feud episodes around then. I don't think we saw him in an on camera role after. And I was about to make a crack at Vince still thinking Dawson was the host, all this despite Ray Combs appearing numerous times on his shows, and his wrestlers on his show. But technically, at that time, Richard Dawson WAS once again the latest to host Feud when it left the air in 1995.

I think Richard was interviewed in 1997 with the interview being shown on the E True Hollywood Story about Family Feud inn 2002. I could be wrong though.

And now I am wondering if the WWF somehow ever acknowledged Ray Combs' passing?

And now I am wondering if the WWF somehow ever acknowledged Ray Combs' passing? I don’t think they did. However, I do remember Todd Pettingill acknowledging that Ray Combs has not been feeling well. That may have been looooong before his passing like in 1994 or so. I can’t remember.

On one side, Dusty Rhodes, Blackjack Mulligan, Thunderbolt Patterson, Tommy Rich and Gordon Solie. On the other side, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Ernie Ladd and Harley Race. Let's play the feud! We asked 100 men, where do you take a woman on the first date?
