I got there this morning and every entrance had been blocked off by police cars.
I was like "eh?", I parked nearby and called my friend Keith (if anyone would know what's up it would be him), who told me we were on lockdown because Pulaski Tech received a threat that "something worse than what happened at Virginia Tech would happen today."
Driving home, that really messed me up. First off, what a ridiculously disrespectful thing to do. Second off, good god, if they were serious, all the cool people I met this semester and myself could have been dead.
I don't know, it's just, ugh. Weirding me out.
I know it was probably just an empty threat, but none the less, it freaks me out, man.

The aftermath of one of these attacks always ends up being a seemingly never ending string of false threats and people thinking that for some reason they are big or funny for doing this.
I really hate some people.
All the same, glad you're ok Void.

I'm glad I went to school when I did. Scariest thing we ever went through was a bomb threat. Now, stuff like that's as common as study hall.
I weep for this generation.

We just terminated an employee because he was making threats to a co-worker in a crowded public setting that quote "would make Virginia Tech look like Pre-School".
I agree with 'Saw, society in this day and age is terrifying.

Want a story?
My high school, about 6 months after Columbine, got a phoned-in bomb threat, and locked down.
But who was behind it? A guy on the baseball team that called from across the school literally at a Big Lots store phone, so that he could simply miss an exam that morning.

Yeah, once a shooting occurs in the country, towards the end of the semester a lot of fake threats come in from students who want to put off their finals a bit.
.. yeah, it's the only way to explain four bomb threats in two weeks towards the end of my school's year right after Columbine

Oh yeah. Kids really are not very imaginative.
Also, at my same school, a janitor was fired and sent to jail when cops found bomb-making material in his apartment at the school.
Its such a wonderful cesspool for the mental car wrecks.

Yep, a week or so before I graduated from HS, a bomb threat got called into my school. It was the week after Columbine, and we got herded into the gym instead of outside, the principal's reasoning being that there could have been a gunman out waiting for people. I don't know...I think if there was someone with a gun, s/he could have easily walked into the gym and it would have been like shooting into a barrel of fish. At least outside, there would have been a better chance of getting away.
Stupid cow of a principal, no wonder she got replaced.

We had a fake bomb threat at my high school too back in like 1996. I heard it was just some kind who had skipped school that day. There was no bomb.

Back about 9 years ago when I was in 7th or 8th grade we had like 3 bomb threats in a week. We were all hustled into the gym, which was a separate building, and stayed there for hours until the whole school was checked. Sitting in the gym for hours was way worse than having class, I'm glad the dumbass was finally caught.
Bottom Line: People today are f'n stupid

When I first read this thread, I thought Void's school was going to have all its students wrestle each other in steel cage matches.

This happened at my little brother's school in Grand Ledge, MI last week. Weird.
People need to settle down.

Well, it happened a few times here just last week.
Life Christian had a lockdown drill, just in case this sorta thing happened. Fircrest had a bomb threat called in, which turned out to be an 11th grader who was failing every class. Washington High School had one not too long ago that had some semblance of realism, they found some parts in the kids basement.
I'm just glad I'm out of High School. I wouldn't be able to sleep.
