When I was in 7th grade we had to evacuate the buidling because of a bomb threat. What happened was the kid had like a 2 liter coke bottle or something filled with gasoline or lighter fluid and was going to light it. He got scared or something and burried it outside.
I knew the kid who did it, he was in a few classes with me and I knew him pretty well. He was shipped to another school for a while. He came back to the high school I was at later on. The first time I talked to him when he came back, he said he never intended to do anything with it really but someone dared him to light it and throw it in the building or something like that.

We need a John McClane type guy in every school. That would take care of the problem.

All this crap going just makes me concerned about my college. I don't even think I've seen any security guards walking around....just a bunch of maintenance people mowing lawns and repairing stuff. The dorms aren't even that safe either. All the doors are outside. Sometimes I leave the door unlocked because my friend comes by often to use my computer, but I always have that thought in the back of my mind that's there's gonna be one time that it isn't my friend....

When I was in high school they put the school on lockdown which meant the doors got locked and you sit in your classroom until everything is cool. I was in drama and it was a big metal door so I felt safe. Then we could hear dogs barking outside the room. My first thought was "who the hell attacks a school with a dog?" The teacher then said nothing to worry about because this lockdown was so they could bring in drug dogs. Which was just a as bad because my friends all used my locker and they all did drugs. Luckily they didnt have nothing in my locker. Only thing that pissed me off was that the principal told us that a lockdown meant a someone had a gun. So to freak everyone out like that is recockulous.

Last year, we had someone put up a myspace buelletin saying that there was going to be a shooting at my school the next day. People started freaking out and telling all their friends. There was actually a line of cars leaving the school as I was arriving on my bus. Even had parents coming to school to pick up their kids. I just figured, if I see a gun, I'll think about it then. Didn't stop me from staying alert and on guard during passing periods just as a precaution because if anything happened to my friends and I could've prevented it, I'd never forgive myself. Ended up being a prank, and the guy got a fine of $4,000. he ended up dropping out. So yeah, stupid prick.

First of all I think that people who really want to kill others aren't gonna call ahead and say, hey I'm coming in to kill you all so just a heads up on maybe not being around. Next, I am of the mind set that I would try to keep the person from killing others, not just save myself. If everyone was this way, maybe the world would be better, maybe not.

I go to Knox and we had a similar threat from a nearby citizen. It really bothered me because all the school did was send around a really vague email. Apparently the guy was in custody shortly after the threat, but I don't think it is too much to ask to know the details when the school is threatened by something so serious...

Once I arrived at school, only about 4 hours late...to see everyone feeling and cops everywhere. I saw my computer teacher out in the parking lot directing traffic. I asked him what was up, apparently we got a bomb threat. So I turned around and went home.
Another time, a buddy and I took off for lunch. Got back and a diesel truck was blocking the enternace, on it's side, with a car underneath.....so we took off. Having to explain the next day why our homework wasn't done.
Always odd to show up at school and something bad has happened.
