Remember the guest star year, when every episode of RAW would have a new C-list celebrity looking bored/confused as they half-heartedly shilled their latest product in some interminable comedy skit that Santino futilely tried to save?
How many different ways did those guys mangle Kofi's name cause none of them could be bothered to remember it? He was Kobe Kingston and Kofi Johnson.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb smashing wine bottles on each other's butts while dancing around. They tried to blare music through the arena to drown out the boos.

Just reading through these, my God. I guess you can't say they haven't been open to trying new things....
The 2/3 falls one was probably the most bizarre. Did they really expect that to have legs, and the majority of matches on Raw forevermore are this lightly regarded match type?

McMahon's Million Dollar Mania. They tried to literally pay people to watch the show. Still didn’t work. that gave us vince being rick rolled though so it was worth it.

Corey Graves got an interview show on the network. It was supppsed to be kind of a work, kind of a shoot. He had Enzo on and they talked about the rumours of him getting kicked out the lockerroom to which Enzo absolutely belittled Graves. They never did another episode

The Cruiserweights back in 2016.
It seemed like they were genuinely invested in it. They even changed the ropes and ring mat to give the matches a special attraction feel.
Some of the segments even closed out Raw.
I miss those days.

This current countdown to Cody thing has been kind of attempted a few times but never sticks. Sometimes during football season they’ll specifically announce a match or segment will happen at “half-time” and there was the thing with Lashley and Miz last year when they had the countdown to the match and Miz’s time running out. Raw Underground itself was an example of this: it was hyped up on its debut as kicking off the third hour of Raw...and the debut segment started and finished before the third hour even started. An example of something good they started doing and then almost immediately stopped right away for no discernible reason: after PPVs on The Network, they started having "post game press conferences" like in NBA playoff coverage. It was new, different, felt interesting...and then it was just casually tossed aside and dumped like

Speaking of Raw Underground, right at the same time you had the most, "Eh, uh, we'll figure it out later," stable ever with Retribution.

This camera angle. During the start of the 2nd Brand Extension they tried out a few different camera angles but none of them lasted long.

yeah, the WWE made money off the deal. Yeah but if you figure the amount of time and effort in terms of advertising it on the programing wasted on it they didn't really see a great ROI

McMahon's Million Dollar Mania. They tried to literally pay people to watch the show. Still didn’t work. That would be my answer as well, but I couldn't remember if it was originally advertised to be more than a one time event. Of course, when they were advertising it, they originally said they would be giving away millions of dollars, but instead they only gave away portions of one million. It was such an embarrassment to watch.
