I can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head, but I'm almost certain there were times during TNA's most shameless WWE-imitating era where there were terrible dollar store versions of clumsy WWE pop culture references. Daffney as "The Governor" would certainly fit this description. I'll defend this. She looked great in that role.

I guess there were a few in Impact Wrestling I can recount:
Survivor: Didn't Impact bring one of the winners (the guy who faked his grandmother having a disease or something?) on a show and he was part of a storyline? (I don't remember the details, TBH). And we also cannot forget Jenna Morasca hanging around The Main Event Mafia, then randomly feuding with Sharmell, leading to THAT match at Victory Road 2009.
Jersey Shore: Wasn't Robbie E (Rob Eckos/Mr. Stone) a transparent parody of Pauly D or something? Also he had a valet named Cookie (thinly-veiled parody of Snooki) and didn't Impact also try to run against Jersey Shore at the height of it's popularity?
And of course, Damien Sandow's awful Liberace gimmick that temporarily rendered his career stone-dead. Or Orlando Jordan having yellow tape around him similar to what Lady Gaga did when she first became popular or something.
