Their bodies have taken a hell of a beating over the years and it really really shows. Good nostalgia act but yeah I would rather they stay out the ring as much as possible
Broken Universe is best way to go to get the best out of both.

The Bucks managed to drag it to being halfway decent, but it was a struggle and even then it went waaaay too long.
The Hardys should be getting used like the Dudleys were in their last run, IE jobbers with some credibility they can give to the teams that can actually still do this shit.

Yeah lean full in on Broken shenanigans because it's hard watching them do anything else.

Yeah, I feel like the only thing these guys should be doing is popping the crowd while beating undercard wrestlers.

the match picked up at the end but... yeah Matt and Jeff are just beaten to all hell. Both clearly are struggling to move and credit to the Bucks for the match being as good as it was

AEW figured out how to get the best out of Sting and make him look like a million dollars whenever he’s in a match. They need to use the same tricks with the Hardys and not rely on them to carry their half of a match.

On the other hand, that was kind of what the HFO was; Matt in a management role while most of the lifting came from his goons. It was rough and ultimately none of the pieces went anywhere. With Sting they attached him to a major star, and I don't think they'll do the same for the Hardys.

Matt Hardy dressing like the 1999/2000 version of himself is hilariously sad.

They're clearly past wanting to do non-ring matches away from the crowd on the regular, but the gimmick needs that smoke and mirrors madness to play out. And TV time. It needs a lot of TV time and the real colour you get in that gimmick comes from having completey deranged segments and building up with stuff that feels like way more TV time than AEW can spare when it's trying to accommodate as much as it is. And frankly? AEW should not be investing long stretches of its limited TV time on Matt Hardy f***ing around with a drone. Half-baked Broken Universe will come off as another limp imitation like WWE's did. Also man I can't think of any way you can make the Dark Order matter less or fall in prominence, but dicking around as guests on The Matt Hardy's Bad Accent Show would absolutely drag them down lower I see it already. Not intentionally but that's a nexus of "AEW won't book these guys well"

And Jeff looks like an old down on his luck clown looking for a job.
Trust me... I know a thing or two about clowns.

That said I still wish they would just f*** around with the Broken universe as like a web show or try to monetize it on Youtube because it is a hole that could be filled and it's not like they don't have vast swaths of land with their own ring and everything. f*** it bring back OMEGA except it's a shitshow. Do whatever you want on the weekends while you get your paychecks from Tony Khan to shamble around while the ring mics pic up the creaking of your bones.

Not intentionally but that's a nexus of "AEW won't book these guys well" True. The campiness is the big seller of the whole thing but I think you can find ways to make it work but I agree it would take too much time and effort to make that work when it doesn't need to be invested in Matt and Jeff. They should be the credible vet tag team like Dudleys were in WWE. You have no one really to put with Hardys to maximize anything you can get from them. Darby would fit with Jeff but he is a much better fit with Sting. DO as I said but like you said, they are already dragged down. Danahausen doesn't need them. They need something to stick outside of the nostalgia act that can help others, or you can just sit there asses in the back with Show and Henry

They need something to stick outside of the nostalgia act that can help others, or you can just sit there asses in the back with Show and Henry The time could be put in, but that's time you'd take away from Swerve to give to Matt's father in law or to a drone. When TNA gave whole episodes to the Hardys, it made sense because they were the only draws they had and it was the one thing that'd actually get people to tune in to their show where Mike "Imagine Dragons" Bennett interfered in every match for the first hour of the show for some inexplicable reason. An even more broken-down Matt and Jeff getting all that time would be the most wasteful thing. Best they might be able to do with the Hardys is have them be in big multi-man tag clusterf***s where they can do a couple spots and back out, but without someone to really get invested in they end up more like whenever the New Japan Dads end up as tag team filler for something more than like actual presences on the show. They're kinda backed into a corner here.

It coulda been worse, Jeff needs a break and he needs it soon tbh to recharge his body There's part of me that wonders if Jeff's beyond that point of "taking time off to recharge" and just needs to hang it up, or only wrestle strictly as a special attraction.
