SO, I'm listening to the radio at work and every F**KING ten minutes, I hear this commercial for "Legally Blonde: The Musical" LIVE on BROADWAY. I saw the movie. Why exactly did they make a musical out of it? Are there no budding playwrites with fresh ideas? Are they trying to cheapen what musicals are about? Now, I haven't seen it (and don't plan to) but this just sounds like a stupid friggin' idea and a jiffy quick way to make a new musical. I understand they tried this with "The Wedding Singer" which I absolutely loved but WOULDN'T go see on Broadway. Anyone remember the episode of The Simpons where they went to see "Planet of the Apes: The Musical"? Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius! Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius! Oh oh oh, Dr, Zaius! How long before we actually get some corny, hackneyed crap like this? Wasn't going to even create this thread but I keep hearing this commercial and "the critics are in love with....!" so I decided to post this. Anyone see it? Reviews?

I will admit the movie Legally Blonde is one of my guilty pleasure movies. I love it and watch it everytime it's on.

I just don't get it. I bet that soon, we'll get a broadway version of Pluto Nash or better yet Gigli. I guess everything has become so stagnant on broadway that they have to base stuff off of mediocre movies and Billy Joel songs.

To paraphrase David Spade last night, "Legally Blonde: The Musical opened this week, which is good for fans of the movie who want to see it again for $200."
