What are your thoughts on this? Just to clarify what I mean, in Dark Souls, Bloodborne etc there is rarely a checkpoint next to a boss gate and often you have to run back past enemies and other obstacles to have another attempt at the boss. Now, we've seen this mechanic disappear in the more recent games like Sekiro and Elden Ring but those runbacks from the earlier games certainly left an impression on me (maybe not a good one though 🤔) I recently created a video on this topic ( youtu.be/ZqbYUeiOT6Y in case you're interested) but would love to hear your thoughts or memories of some of these often tedious gauntlets.

Honestly, the only one that I’ve ever really had an issue with is the Forbidden Woods in Bloodborne, given how easy it is to get lost.
And then when you finally get there, it’s one of the toughest fights in the game
