Tonight, on the latest edition of New Japan Strong, Fred Rosser put his career on the line to challenge year long reigning Champ Filthy Tom Lawlor for The Strong Openweight Championship. Were he to lose, he would never be allowed to wrestle in New Japan again.
After a brutal battle that involved him donning the crimson mask and the efforts of Team Filthy thwarted by The LA Dojo, Fred Rosser finally did what he had been trying to do for over half a year and defeated Lawlor, making him submit to The Chicken Wing STF to not only keep his career, but at long last become Strong Openweight Champion.

It's actually really impressive that Rosser went from the 8th guy in the 7 man Nexus to really rebuilding himself in New Japan Strong. Makes you really feel good for the guy.

Rosser was a guy I rolled my eyes at when he showed up on STRONG.
Now he’s one of the highlights and I’m bummed he’s not in the G1

I'm really glad he's been taking to NJPW as well as he has.
