Ay bruv, Amazon.co.uk dispatched this to me and I watched it tonight with me mate. Bit of a fine show, innit?
Seriously though, watched this tonight and it's really cool to see an event I've seen the old Coliseum Video of so many times in a new light. The detail on the blu really captures how massive that crowd really was. Additionally, hearing the show in that level sound is remarkable. If a show ever warranted a singular re-release treatment, this was definitely one.
The extras are the countdown show recapping the main feuds, and outside Sean Mooney doing a fine job hosting, has no other footage not already otherwise available. Still, it's inclusion is great for both completists' sake and for showing someone the event for the first time exactly what the feuds going in were.
It also has the three Superstars episodes leading up to the event. While the "promotional consideration is paid for by the following" segment is gone, the spots for WBF Bodystars on Saturdays remain.
The event itself offers two options:
The Broadcast version - as the event was seen on Pay-Per-View (with matches cut from Coliseum Video restored)
The Live version - the dark matches (which are available in the bonus features on their own) re-inserted into the broadcast where they took place chronologically to come as close as possible to what it would have been like watching the whole thing live.
It's also definitely Region 2 only and my buddy had a Region 2 player (he loves him some British comedy that's only physically available on region 2) so he invited me over to watch it with him tonight. I forgot what it was like having someone seeing the ventriloquist dummy Rocko without any warning and attempting to make sense of it.
So yeah, I'm happy with it. Great little collector's item, especially for the price. Going to get Bret to sign it via mail in next month.

I never understood why they didn’t do this as soon as DVD extras were a thing. I mean, the show having two versions, neither complete never made much sense in the first place, but still.

Not sure the point of a Blu Ray release if the resolution of the source is locked on 480i.
That said, physical media releases are always good news to hear for me.

WWE was going to give u the real complete version…whether u wanted it or not.

Is the broadcast version the US version or the UK version? Crush/Repo Man was left off the UK broadcast for some reason.

Is the broadcast version the US version or the UK version? Crush/Repo Man was left off the UK broadcast for some reason. I would imagine the U.S. version due to the fact RM/Crush is included. The six-man tag, Santana/Shango, and Berzerker/Tatanka didn't air on the U.S. or the UK PPV versions. The UK got those matches on the home video release while the U.S. only got them on Prime Time Wrestling. The entrances of the Nasty Boys and the Mountie didn't air on PTW but were shown on the UK VHS.

The UK got those matches on the home video release while the U.S. only got them on Prime Time Wrestling. The entrances of the Nasty Boys and the Mountie didn't air on PTW but were shown on the UK VHS. I knew the second part but saw there was a specific “broadcast option” on the DVD which included only the matches aired on the PPV. Was just wondering as it’s a UK only release if they went with the US or UK version that aired. Has the blu-ray got the missing segment or an extra with some “legends” being introduced to the crowd (Lord Alfred Hayes, Larry Hennig and a few others)? I remember them being introduced somewhere around the fourth match or so. It obviously won’t be on the DVD but I also remember The Fink having to announce that people needed to stop running towards the aisle when a wrestler was making their entrance. It was getting really dangerous by that point with hundreds of people running at once. The whole “missing matches” really bothered me. Mainly because at some point during the Tito/Papa Shango match I let out a “Wooooooooo!” so loud I was convinced it would be heard on the broadcast. Upon watching the show when it aired I was really pissed off as the match was cut and I had to wait ages for the local video hire shop to get a copy of the show with the “dark” matches. To my dismay, my “wooo” was not heard.
