Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt is Coming Back!

Studio Trigger announced at its panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that it is working on a new project for the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt franchise. The staff at the panel showed a short video featuring an animated shot and text with the phrase "NEW PANTY & STOCKING." The videos featured the main characters each posing with both their middle fingers up.

The 13-episode anime originally aired in 2010. Funimation released the anime on home video in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2019.

Hiroyuki Imaishi directed the anime at GAINAX. Geek Fleet was in charge of series composition, and the music featured songs from Teddyloid, Booty Bronx, Taku Takahashi, and more. Atsushi Nishigori was in charge of the character design.

The Gainax West anime studio had teased a new project for the anime in 2016, and later revealed a "new product" and exhibition for the franchise

I could never get into that show. It's art style was too childish even by anime standards for the content it portrayed, but I'm still glad this is happening. The fans deserve some answers after that cliffhanger the last season ended on.

I never really watched it, but maybe I will. I am glad this is happening regardless because, A. many of my friends liked it, and B. it's a promising sign after Trigger seemed to be in a rough spot when Darling in the Franxx underperformed. I do remember people being concerned about their future, but thankfully, those fears seem to be unfounded, or at least, Promare and the Star Wars Visions projects maybe helped matters.

Always been put off watching it by knowing what a f***-you the ending was but hearing that might make me more inclined to check it out. Have seen a bit and not really been in love with it anyway but might develop more of a taste for it now, has been awhile.
