Her contract may have been up at the end of November, but she was done with everything WWF related after Judgment Day 2001. I think the last time we saw her was her match against Lita. I don't think Chyna was too keen on being in the women's division in the first place, and I think that sort of put a damper on her mood. I think it was a small part of her anger that led her to confront McMahon about her contract.
Also, I think she wasn't too fond of Lita, or much of the women in the WWF at the time to begin with. Then there's the question on how they were going to get the belt off of her. From the rumors that I have heard, she was supposed to turn heel shortly after Judgement Day 2001, with a lot of assumptions that her main target was going to be Lita. Maybe she was going to treat Lita the same way she treated Ivory, with contempt. Hearing Ivory's version of events, Chyna was a "taker" in the ring, and Ivory went through a lot to make Chyna look good, with Chyna only realizing it and having a bit of respect for her after their rivalry was done and over with.
That whole period was weird as she was the current WWF Women's Champion, yet the WWF Women's Title wasn't even spoken about nor seen from Judgment Day 2001 until the fall of 2001. I guess Chyna wanted to go out as the only undefeated WWF Women's Champion.
My other question to that is that when Sable was running around talking about doing almost the same thing, the "powers that be" immediately stripped her of her title in a loss to Debra (of all people). I'm not sure why they couldn't do something similar when Chyna began to talk about being on the same playing field of pay with Austin, The Rock, Trips, and Undertaker.
Whatever the case may be (and we will never really know everything 100%), I think Chyna going for, and winning the WWF Women's Championship, was the final nail in the coffin for her career with the WWF. She already had a target on her back after the whole Triple H/Steph thing.
