Did you get a Lightning Lane pass? Those are very happy for selecting rides that you can cut the wait time in line It’s Genie + now and it’s kind of ridiculous. You have to pay separately on top of it for the top tier rides. Genie+ is the general paid fast pass replacement and the individual E-ticket rides were Lightning Lanes, at least when I went in May. I hate that they started charging for the fast pass system, and I resisted doing it, but then the lines were just TOO long and I gave in. I would never go without using it, unfortunately. We would have missed out on a lot, especially with an older and younger guest with us who aren’t up for being there at rope drop and staying till close. The individual lightning lane for Rise of the Resistance was also a must. That line was stupid otherwise, and that ride is the most impressive thing there right now

Wherever you're not supposed to! Stick it to the man! More seriously, I always wanted to try the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Hollywood Studios. It's not bad, typical fare. One thing that bummed me out is they only show trailers, not actual movies. It costs a lot of money to replay those movies and to get the film reels especially obscure b movies unfortunately:(

We got spoiled post-Covid when we were allowed to ride Flight of Passage twice in 15 minutes.

The revision of the FastPass system to Genie/Genie+ was such bullshit. And the guy who came up with that idea ended up becoming CEO of Disney as a whole so that's not going to change anytime soon. Universal's Express Pass is way more bang for your buck and also far more straightforward.

I can’t speak for the quality of the food itself, but the novelty of intermittent thunderstorms and a jungle atmosphere of the Rainforest Cafe does have its entertainment value.

We actually got one of the best deals we ever had there by buying some meal pack off of some expiring offer. We got $135 worth of food (plus 15% tip) comped to us for $40 (we personally added another 5% tip on top of the tip Disney gave the staff). It was pretty damned tasty too!

I have just purchased a 2 day park hopper ticket for the first week of November.
What I want to do is purchase Genie+ upon arrival and just spend the day leisurely walking around the park and whenever I come upon an attraction that interest me, stop and reserve its lightning lane.
Is this a good idea or do I risk the lightning lane to be sold out for the day?
I just do not want to reserve a bunch of lightning lanes for every 2 hours and have to stress all day to make it to my next reservation.

The Rainforest Cafe is an interesting relic of the 90s themed restaurant chain trend. I'm actually surprised they're still around. Though they were one of the better ones in terms of food quality.

For me, there is a Rainforest Cafe at the mall, so this suggestion seems totally bonkers. Like in The Office when Michael Scott goes to New York and eats at Sbarros.

Is this a good idea or do I risk the lightning lane to be sold out for the day? I just do not want to reserve a bunch of lightning lanes for every 2 hours and have to stress all day to make it to my next reservation. Individual Lightning lanes can sell out nearly instantly for popular rides on busy days. I had the Genie+ app open right when the option to buy them became available to get an individual LL for Rise of the Resistence and availability went from park open to 10, to 11, alarmingly fast For the regular lightning lanes you don't have to be quite as vigilant but I still recommend snagging your first picks right away, the times will get later and later in the day. Then you can get new picks as the become available. There's great videos out there about how to use the system to its fullest. But if you are OK missing things, you can be more relaxed about it. Personally If I'm spending so much money to get in the park and get Genie+ I want to optimize it.

Universal's Express Pass is way more bang for your buck and also far more straightforward. I went in the summer of 2019 (before the pandemic). What was wrong with the old Fast Pass system? It seemed to work for my family as we got to ride everything we wanted to. My parents and sister have gone back since and hate the new system. Edit: I'm sure it had to do with the new CEO figuring out a way to make more money.

Old system wasn't perfect, but it was good enough. Genie/Genie+ is just so arbitrarily confusing. The one trade off is that it's outright cheaper if you just want to use it for a couple of rides (and probably where it makes more money for Disney overall). But there's so many hoops to jump through.
Then again, if you stay in the Universal Studios Orlando hotels, you get their Express Pass for free as a perk, which is insane. You don't get anything similar for even staying at the most expensive WDW hotels like the Grand Floridian.

Yeah, when we went to WDW, we did take a day to go to Universal because my wife absolutely had to see the Harry Potter stuff (and honestly, I thought it was amazing). I think if/when we go again, we are going to do Universal Studios for multiple days and maybe take a day (maybe 2 if we can) to see WDW again. I'm not a Star Wars guy, so those aren't must see attractions for me (but I would if I was there obviously). What I really want to see with Disney is Avengers Campus and that's in Anaheim so...

I don't know if it's still the case, but I heard the Avengers Campus was pretty lackluster when it launched. Like, it's cool if you're a Disneybounding influencer getting pictures at certain spots or with characters, but everything else is meh. It's almost the exact opposite reaction of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge where it was almost universally praised outside of the obscenely long lines.

I know exactly where he got stuck lmao.
