Jesus Christ was NY hot as shit yesterday after it did all that raining Same here in NJ, it's been goddamn brutal lately between the heat and the humidity from the rain. |

I used to live in a country that had far hotter and more humid summers than what the UK has dealt with the last couple of days but that was a country with buildings made for the heat and air-con everywhere. 40 degree heat when your buildings are made to keep heat in and you have no air con is brutal. I forgot how energy-sapping heat can be.

Normally I'd be uncomfortable with today's temperature, but after yesterday it's actually quite pleasant. Oh, and not every single thing that I touch (including the walls) feels noticeably warm today, which is nice.

Unsurprisingly we now have a thunderstorm warning over a large area in England. Whilst it would be refreshing and needed to help prevent fires starting, as the ground is currently as dry as a Vulture’s arse it will probably cause some flash flooding. My area of Canada has basically been in a constant overland flood warning for the past 10ish weeks due to all the rain we’ve been getting. I’m rural, and we’ve had multiple backroads wash out lately, massive damage to some roads here in town, the next town over was basically entirely underwater not long ago, hell the closest major city had to shut down about a quarter of the city due to a flash flood yesterday morning. It’s been a brutal summer where I’m at. |
