Yeah, I would agree that all of it usually is, but I will pick one and say the James Rolfe backlash over that f***ing Ghostbusters remake. Framing him as being sexist simply because he didn't want to see the remake was pathetic. I lost all respect for Patton Oswalt with that whole situation. Oswalt straight-up bullied him over a meaningless video. Can we say any of the war over Ghostbusters '16 in general? It was a mediocre attempt to refresh an iconic IP, yes. Pretty much Bridesmaids in GB's body, with its actresses doing the same thing. But yeah...I don't know who started the gender issue, but again..yeah! A lot of the "raped my childhood" whines as well. Yeah there's bad movies based on beloved IPs, and they can be downright infuriating at times. But there's disliking bad movies and being melodramatic about it. (didn't Transformers fans threaten Michael Bay's life, for instance, back in the day?) I see the Star Wars prequels are being seen more favorably now, on the other hand.

Have to say, the outrage over Heath Ledger as Joker turned out to be ridiculous to everyone once the first trailer hit. Remember how disparagingly people talked about him and calling him the Brokeback Mountain guy. Really eye rolling in hindsight. I was part of this backlash and I was a total idiot I hadn't even seen Brokeback and if any of us had, we might have understood that that performance was way more challenging than the f***ing Joker

I came in here to post this, almost word for word

The outrage and pitchforks being waved after I suggested She-Ra do a crossover with Popeye Doyle from French Connection was totally uncalled for.

I say most of it, especially when pertaining to stuff in movies and tv shows that people don’t like. I can’t judge completely, because I’ve done it too. But people take stuff WAAAAY too seriously. And that’s obviously not limited to wrestling fans. It’s great to have passion over a franchise you love, but sometimes you to repeat to yourself, it’s just a show and you really should just relax.

Anytime Youtube changes something. I see people acting like this tiny change is the worst thing ever.
Look at the outrage over the SOPA stuff on Youtube. Saw quite a few creators leave youtube, and go to Bitchute of all places. Then came crawling back to Youtube a month or so later.

Speaking of Batman, I remember quite a stir over the Twilight guy being Batman I'm sure it was there, but overall I thought the reaction to that was pretty restrained. Pattinson was already like a decade removed from the Twilight movies, and had spent most of that time saying he hated them and did them for the money. People respected his honesty, and he'd shown he had acting chops in the meantime. Honestly I don't remember people being that upset.

While there were some changes YT did that were good, some others other like the channel designs and their copyright system...really should have been taken care of more better, but I understand what you're talking about.

If Pattinson was cast as Batman during the New Moon or Eclipse era, angry fanboys would have been *really* exploding. This was post Good Time, which he was getting understandably a ton of praise for.

Wasnt Youtube one of the sites in danger of being shut down if SOPA had passed (or do you mean COPPA?)?

Yeah, all COPPA did for the most part was disable comments and the ability to put videos in "watch later" for videos flagged as being "for kids" (as for the latter, I just click "like" and I can just finish it later via clicking on the link in that folder). Granted, it HAS caused some interesting mistakes (For some reason, they often will accidently put adult animation shows as "for kids").

Yep. But wow did I see quite a few creators on YT flipping out. One dude made a 2 hour rant video about it. Then went and privated every other video on his channel. Ran off to Bitchute, swearing he would never come back to YT.
Then 3 weeks later he is on YT again and if you mention him leaving he blocks ya.
I read up on COPPA ,knew that none of my channels were aimed at kids. Then spent a few weeks laughing at all the Chicken Littles screaming about the sky falling.

With the prequels a big part of it is that the people who saw those as children have come of age now and for them that was Star Wars, they have the same feelings about those movies as many of us had about the original trilogy.
I suspect there are still quite a few who look down at them but for the most part we've gotten older. I have no great love for them, I'm not even sure if I've ever rewatched them but I've hit a point in my life where if people like them, good on them. It has no affect on me. Hell, Attack of the Clones would have been a decent action flick if they didn't have the worlds worst attempt at a love story shoved in there.

Carrying on the Joker theme, much of the internet was getting hot and bothered about the Phoenix movie being some sort of bible for incels and it merely turned out to be an above average Scorsese homage with an outstanding leading performance. THIS! I saw so many furious takes about the movie they created in their head (that ended up being wrong) based on that first trailer. People writing 800 word think pieces about how it's an outrage they're releasing a movie like that and that they weren't going to watch it. OK fine, if you're not interested in a movie nobody is forcing you to go buy a ticket, but all that hysteria does is just create more attention and intrigue that probably lead to more people wanting to see this "Dangerous" movie.
