Triple H is a great booker as long as he's not a performer. Should be pretty safe.

To Triple H/Paul Levesque/Daddy: Please give us more WCW. Old School Nitro. Legit WAR GAMES. Starrcade. Halloween Havoc. I'll even take Spring Stampede. Thank you, - Rick Jericho Dear Daddy H, Please push Balor, call up Io, remind the world how awesome Asuka can be, and bring back Wyatt and let him have a chance to be creative without Vince sabotaging him every other week. Love, KD

I do worry things might get worse then they already were. Triple H has a terrible track record in booking tv & he’s only shown an ability to book hotshot takeovers with meaningless workrate, title changes galore, overuse of gimmick matches & big free agents signings. He was AEW before AEW was a thing & pro wrestling badly needs something different.

Even though there were some things I didn't like about the black and gold era of NXT at the end, it was still a great show IMO and I would've still taken the worst NXT episode over the best Raw or SD.

Biggest criticism for YlTriple H as booker may be just waiting too long to pull the trigger? I mean I think he did that with Johnny Gargano after the DIY break up. Not saying Johnny wasn't still over but he did seem to get Goto'd for a bit.
Off the top of my head though (and I could be wrong, just not remembering) I feel like NXT was strong story wise from Sami's quest for the title up until the Joe and Nakamura feud, then it kind of took a step back with angles but the Takeovers still delivered 10 fold (note not saying the shows were boring or angles were bad just weren't as relied on)

He should immediately change the colours of WWE to black and gold.

Tne nature of the one hour NXT TV show also allowed Hunter to book longer term because it was often taped and he was locked into his decisions for a while barring injuries. He also wasn't facing the pressure of weekly ratings patterns and changing crowd reactions. I think he'll be better than Vince when it comes to planning but it's still going to be an adjustment period for him.

The thing about Levesque is that he has an ability to delegate. It's not like Vince where he needs to approve every word on every show. Expect WWE to be less 'Triple H's vision' and more 'the vision of several different head writers over the years filtered through Triple H' which is ultimately what NXT was too. I mean the NXT that actually got hot (as opposed to the one that coasted on hotness to the disaster Wednesday Night War) was Dusty Rhodes' vision, then Ryan Ward's, and the current one is more or less Shawn Michaels catering to VKM, all three featured Levesque at the technical head as did his own period of direct control.

I listened to Jim Cornette's thoughts on this and he had some ideas about how things may change with Triple H. in charge. I don't agree with him on a lot of things but he made some interesting points here.
-He thinks he'll make the product more serious and geared towards a more mature audience and do away with the silly stuff that seems to be geared towards 12 year olds. It didn't sound like he was talking about the blood and guts side of things but not treating the audience like they're children.
-He also thinks he'll give the writers more of a chance to prove their worth without having to cater to Vince.
-He thinks that he'll give the deserving talent more freedom with what they say in promos and what they do in the ring.
-He also thinks that he might look to bring in some younger people who know wrestling into the creative team..
-He also thinks that they are going to give wrestlers characters that will give them a chance to get over. He used the Max Dupri gimmick as an example of being a gimmick that wouldn't get over.

His tv in the network era was meaningless you could easily skip everything but the handful of takeovers every year and miss nothing. When NXT got on USA people rejected it & were begging for change then when they got that change they wanted the thing that they originally hated & didn’t watch.

That’s awesome for you but ratings & general interest says otherwise. I mean it was so bad the show got moved & he got canned after 2 years you don’t see that happening with a successful product.

NXT TV was on the network for over 5 years that’s alot of can miss tv. Ratings have been atrocious for nxt on usa and lets not forget his painfully dull run in charge on smackdown in like 2015 when Vince stopped going to the smackdown tapings. That’s a pretty putrid track record he could only make NXT exciting a handful of times a year for takeovers and now he’s in charge of 3hrs of raw,2hrs of Smackdown and monthly cock events. I would love to be hopeful but I’m in touch with reality its my curse.

Hold up , wait what? I assume you are talking from your own point of view. Because idk where else this info you getting from is coming from but prior to Kross and Raquel winning their respective titles NXT was universally praised as the best thing in WWE by a damn wide margin and alot of the voices that were negative towards it were primarly coming from AEW fans and this was a back and forth thing with everyone both ways suddenly being obsessed with ratings and demo talk. Hell even just here if you can find those live threads there was very little negativity about the shows again prior to Raquel and Kross winning their titles. Keith Lee's ascension and matches with Dijak. Gimmick matches like the fight pit and wargames. The UE. The womens division as a whole. The cruiserweights getting shine like Tozawa being a totally different guy before going back to shitty 24/7 on Monday nights.

I would love to be hopeful but I’m in touch with reality its my curse. You "being in touch with reality" is - in reality - just your opinion. Re: your post above this one - you have no insight into the ratings that NXT got on the Network, because nobody does. Yes, they messed some things up when NXT went to two hours on USA, but just because *you* didn't like NXT doesn't mean others didn't. They sold out arenas. Some of the hottest shows I ever went to were NXT Takeovers. Weekly NXT TV kicked ass because it was the fastest hour on TV and they got people to care. f***, the only time I almost got brought to tears at a wrestling show was because of how well they did the Bayley storyline. You're using your opinion to try and write off years and years of what many people considered great TV and that just pisses me off, sorry. I realize that this is also technically my own opinion, but you don't sell out huge arenas without people being interested in the product.
