linkI know he hadn’t been in the best of health for a while and 93 is one hell of an age to live to but this still hurts. He’s known for many things but to me, he’ll always be the voice of The Wombles. Hopefully the upcoming Doctor Who specials will be a fitting tribute to the man. RIP Mr. Cribbins. The world is a slightly sadder place without you in it.

RIP Mr. Cribbins. One of those few genuine cases where you could say he was a national treasure.
What a career, for both the kids and grown-ups, and everyone said what a nice bloke he was. Performing from people like The Beatles and Roy Castle to Doctor Who, decades apart, even.

Can't complain about only making it to 93, but it's still sad. A proper legend that seemed like a genuinely nice guy and whose work was (and will continue to be) enjoyed by multiple generations.

Wombles, Jackanory, Doctor Who, Old Jack's Boat, the one true Right Said Fred.
The man did it all, and DW defined him for a lifetime of a generation
We salute you as much as you've saluted us since 2009

Its says something about how good Cribbins was that he even with a fairly amount of screen time he ended up becoming one of the most universally beloved companions on Nu-Who. RIP.

Yeah when I told my wife she had no idea who he was until I mentioned Who. Then she got real sad. Just that small part was enough to endear him.

Very sad. A very funny actor in the carry on movies and also he was one hell of a spoon salesman in Fawlty towers.
