Flair doing whatever that was tonight had me trying to figure out who is the oldest person to have a legit good match. Sting is currently still great in his 60s, which is the same ballpark of Terry Funk when he did the One Night Stand stuff. But has there been a good high profile match of someone north of 70?

Sting is 63 and has done some really good work in AEW. And he's done some crazy things for his age. Not quite Terry Funk levels but still impressive.
Minoru Suzuki and PCO are in their 50s and can still go. If anything, PCO is having a career Renaissance.

Nick Bockwinkel was 59 when he and Dory Funk Jr put on a damn good match at Slamboree ‘93.
I actually enjoyed the Thesz - Chono match, and Lou was 74.

Johnny Saint had some well received matches in his late 60s. Seems he retired at 73.
The Rock n roll express have higher profile matches in their 60s.

I think the long tradition of legends/young lions tag-matches in Japan and Mexico are gonna skew this pretty hard.

A broken down Hulk Hogan(at 49) taking on non-wrestler Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania XIX was pretty entering given all things considered.

It doesn’t really count since he was just the special referee, but seeing that Jimmy Golden turns 72 today means he was 71 when I saw him in June, throwing probably the best punches I’ve seen in person.

Steamboat or Bockwinkel for me.
Steamboat particularly was amazing, just because (in short spurts) he still looked as good as he did 20 years prior.

Johnny Saint not had some well received matches in his late 60s. Seems he retired at 73. Not sure if 'good match' is the right term, but I'm just thinking of the year he was in King of Trios and surprised the hell out of a lot of people that hadn't heard of him and didn't expect him to be still as pretzel knot-inducing as he was.

How old was Steamboat when wrestled Jericho at Mania and Backlash? I was coming to say Steamboat v Jericho at Backlash. Steamboat was 56 and worked a regular PPV quality singles match. It wasn't a tag where he could rest and let a partner do half the match or a gimmick match with a bunch of smoke and mirrors. He wrestled a regular singles match and looked good. Flair has that beat though. He was 59 when he had the HBK match at Wrestlemania.

AEW can book 58 year old Bill @$$ vs. 53 year old Dustin Rhodes tomorrow and no one would even consider it an "old timers" match.

If the qualifier is that it has to be a GOOD match, I would easily go with Steamboat.

I gotta say Judy Martin at Rumble...89? She was like 30, looked at least 70 and put on a decent match.
