Action Mike Jackson is in his 70s and is still having fun matches on the indies. My dad and I saw Mike at the NWA Legends Fanfest in 2008, and he had the whole room on its feet going absolutely apeshit. Mike Jackson is the f***ing man, in terms of how he can work and how he is as a human being. I’m a little embarrassed that I didn’t think of him myself.

Also, the Rock n Roll Express (and Ricky Morton in particular) have put on some bangers in recent years. Maybe more old school than is generally preferred these days, but damn good matches. Ricky is a master class level guy, and should be a featured trainer for either WWE or AEW.

Plenty of older wrestlers have done some good stuff in matches but for an actual match it has to be Ricky Steamboat in 2009. He genuinely moved like he did 20 years prior.

How old was Steamboat when wrestled Jericho at Mania and Backlash? I was coming to say Steamboat v Jericho at Backlash. Steamboat was 56 and worked a regular PPV quality singles match. It wasn't a tag where he could rest and let a partner do half the match or a gimmick match with a bunch of smoke and mirrors. He wrestled a regular singles match and looked good. Flair has that beat though. He was 59 when he had the HBK match at Wrestlemania. Keiji Muto matched that last month and is likely to have a good match at 60 before retiring.

On one hand, you could say "Well, yea, he didn't have that 20 years of wear and tear on his body." On the other, you could say "The dude hadn't wrestled in 20 years and was in his mid 50's! Holy shit that was awesome." I know where I fall...

Fujiwara is still putting on good matches at 73, including a great performance in the New Japan Rumble when he was 67.
Great Kabuki took part in some good multiman matches the last year of his career before retiring at 70.

As the qualifier is it’s a good match, then I’d say Ricky steamboat against Jericho and it’s one of the few times the crowd chanting “you still got it” was actually warranted and not just trying to make someone feel better. I’d also give a very honourable mention to the late Nick Bockwinkle who was just a genius both in and out of the ring and I know he gets recognition but imho I don’t think he’s get the true recognition he deserves. Just listen to his promo In Memphis about the 500 dollars a punch. It’s a masterclass of a promo.

Promo I was talking about. No yelling or screaming but a promo that you believe because he believes it.

Thinking about it, Bob Armstrong could be in consideration here.

Not really known outside LA/MS But Prince of Pain Joe Kane can put on a damn good match with anyone and he is 55 now. Started at like 17 and is in better shape now than when he started.
The other few I can think of that havent been mentioned ,well one of them retired last year.
John Saxon-He is 53 IIRC and still lives up to his "redneck Dean malenko" nickname. Mostly retired to spend more time with his kid.
Vordell Walker-45 soon. And works every weekend, usually 2 or 3 shows.
But oldest I have seen in person that put on a great match...
Action Mike Jackson. Dude is older than Lawler and did more in the first 5 minutes of his match thhan Lawler did in the 3 times I had seen him.

She’s 53 so definitely not the oldest but I’m currently at a show watching Kyoko Inoue come in as a last minute replacement and doing pretty well.

I think the Steamboat match with Jericho was excellent but when Flair wrestled Shawn at WM 24 he was actually older than Steamboat was when he wrestled Jericho and it was a better match.
I'm not a huge Flair guy but that match could have main evented Wrestlemania. Flair at 59 wrestled a match that could have main evented the biggest show in the world. I'm not sure anyone's beating that. And it's not like Shawn was super young or in his prime, he was 43 at the time.
