We did watch it,like 4 days afterr it was online with Robert&Ron Fuller,Jimmy Golden,Tracy Smothers and action Mike Jackson at a Wrestle Birmingham show.
Wish they had the full entrance on the version online. Bama Doink was lowered to the ring off a crane.
Part of everybody's pay that day was "One free buffet at the Golden Corral."

Alabama Doink vs Heidenreich in a Golden Corral parking lot. I'll never ever forget Heidenreich and Alabama Doink brawling across the street while everyone honked at them to get the f*** out of the way

So, is it too soon to say the words Wrestle Queerdom? Not really been on Twitter or anything the past few days, but just saw Kidd Bandit is helping people out as something has happened. What has gone wrong? The TL;dr version is that promoter was unable to pay virtually anyone that contributed to the show, be it as talent, production, graphics, or any other role. This resulted in talent having all sorts of issues getting home, including a car full of Midwest talent (Don't Die Miles, Cameron Saturn, and Aiden Von Engeland) who had to panhandle on social media to get gas money home. This led to everyone on the show stating they weren't paid their full rate. It turns out the promoter didn't even have a spreadsheet or any other concise record of what anyone was owed. Also, the promoter had to ask a mutual friend of mine for the funds to pay for VENY's COVID test so she could fly back to Japan. On the bright side, once it became apparent how deep these financial issues ran, Aiden Von Engeland and Kidd Bandit spearheaded an effort to organize all the fans willing to donate to ensure no one is stranded and eventually get everyone paid their full rates and expenses. If nothing else, this debacle did highlight the generosity of the independent wrestling fanbase and the drive by Aiden, Bandit, and other LGBTQ promoters to ensure everyone could get home and eventually paid. There are other twists to the story, such as the promoter letting VENY stay at her house during the week, and then making of tweets about VENY passing out in her guestroom/office that were very unprofessional and bordering on creepy, which led to predictable discourse on why VENY wasn't staying at a hotel. This, alongside with obvious red flags about payment, resulted in Max the Impaler pulling off the show in what may be one of the smartest moments of their career. Richie Coy, another talent from the West Coast, was stated on the show to have been unable to attend due to "travel issues." It turned out the "travel issues" was that the promoter never booked their flight, and Richie trusted their instincts and did not feel comfortable dealing with the promoter. And of course, none of this was disclosed in advance on either the WrestleQueerdom or TransGraps social media accounts despite being known days before the show. Now, this doesn't seem to be a case of intentional fraud, but a first time promoter in WAY over her head, and flat out lacking the maturity and social skills needed to actually run a successful show or promotion. It's a shame because reviews on the show itself are mostly positive, and the show is historic in being the first wrestling show entirely comprised of non-binary, transgender, or other gender non-conforming talents. The show even had one talent (Aiden Von Engeland) come out as trans prior to his match. But all of that has now been overshadowed by their incompetence in every other aspect of the business.

Glad the show was well received but that is a massive shitstorn backstage. Fair play to Bandit and Engeland for stepping up for everyone. Very worrying if the news about VENY is true also. Hope the concept can be picked up by someone more competent and it can become a regular event.

Yeah, it was definitely a really good idea but absolutely should be done by someone more experienced (and as much as I hate to say this because I live less than half an hour from the venue) in a much more accessible location. Milford, NH is about 10 miles off a highway in a borderline rural area of New Hampshire, seemed a bit random. The ROH shows I went to in Connecticut in similar venues were right off of a major highway. Also TransGraps pulled the plug on their Discord server entirely, hopefully they reflect on what happened now that the financial issues of the show are being addressed.

I suppose that's technically better than "a hotdog and a handshake". Over the last 6 years gotten to know a handful of the former Bama Doink students. All of them will tell you "Dwaine paid us exactly what he promised and if the crowd was way way bigger than expected he would slip each of us an extra few bucks." But if you ask about the actual wresstling training "Well yea brother. He taught us the most basic of basics. Wasn;t until I started getting advanced training from LL and traveling the roads with AC that I learned that Dwaine never taught us that much." So while most of them hate that Bama Doink aka Dwaine charged them a lot to be trained, they also like him cause he booked them often, never screwed them on money. And got them many many free meals with an AWF show was in a parking lot of say a GC or Dennys.

I think that's for greatest moments. Now has anyone at Rifftrax or Rifftrax fan sites ever seen the match? I remember riffing on this match on a stream with friends who have never seen this disaster piece. The sound of just terror and horror was great

They wished themselves best of luck in their future endeavours and pretended there was new management but it was still them. And apparently they've spent all the t-shirt money, meaning the t-shirt company is sending the Veny shirts out at a 100% loss to them out of goodwill.

It's not wrestling anymore it's people acting out matches they played on a wrestling computer game. This really does look like No Mercy on the N64.

Not even that, the t-shirts just weren't going to happen until StiffBlade Apparel (the company that does the baseball jerseys that wrestlers like Nick Wayne, Dante Leon, Sandra Moone, and eventually Maki Itoh, wear to the ring) intervened and are basically printing the design on their own with the help of the artist that did the design, as well as the Von Engelands who were able to get the names/addresses of those who ordered the Veny t-shirts. In fact, the people involved had to tweet not to order any more shirts from the TransGraps store, since of course Sally hasn't taken down any of her merch links despite knowing she can't deliver on any orders.

One that comes to mind was some guy doing a Moonsault Styles Clash on Matt Sydal's younger brother. I remember seeing it on reddit years ago and Matt's reaction on YouTube and I'm just thinking, "Why would you do this move? There are some lines you don't cross!".
And if I recall on this site, there was a thread talking about outrageous gimmicks a while back and wasn't there a guy mentioned in that thread who was Anti-Semitic or something?

Speaking of moonsault. It was pretty awful when an indy wrestler was doing a moonsault on George Steele, who had to be close to 70 if not already. He botched it and his knees hit George in the stomach. I can't find it on youtube now but George was obviously very pissed at the guy.

Only George Steele-related moonsault I could find is when Matt Taven hit one on him while he was unawares. That was pretty damn awful.

That's a different one that I saw but still pretty bad. Probably worse if George didn't know it was coming. But the other one, the kid plants his knees right in George's stomach. George could be pretty grumpy in his later years due to health problems and IIRC he got in the kids face about.

there was a clip once from a IWA: Mid-South show, i forget who was in it, but it was hilarious. the guy was doing his entrance for his match, and i don't know if it was a rib, miscommunication, or if the dude really just sucked that bad, but literally the entire crowd got up and went to the concession stand or the bathroom like it was intermission, and the guy was so pissed off and confused (and before someone makes a joke about five people being in the crowd, this was in 2006 or 2007 i believe, when they could still draw a decent sized crowd in the right building)
also, this indy clip never gets old and will never not be embarrassing:

When the promoter blows all the revenue gambling, but vows to make up all the money playing the SQUID GAME, while also planning to leave the country on a "mental health journey."
