97 face Lex Luger was incredibly over. So I’ll go for that but I do have a soft spot for the Narcissist because I had the Hasbro action figure.

88-91 wcw lex with the awesome theme he had and the cocky muscle character, and the 95/96 "friends with sting" lex, where lex is a heel and friends with the heels, sting is a face and friends with the faces, but lex and sting are friends together and a team is probably my favorite. early 93 narcissist lex was his peak in the wwf. He needs to be a heel, rah rah lets-go-team lex doesn't work and is boring.

His Superbrawl 2 main event vs Sting is an amazing match.
Lex is someone who I feel is severely underrated now Adays.

I absolutely love his match against Ricky Steamboat at the Great American Bash '89. Great face and heel work.
Luger gets some shit, but the dude looked amazing and with the right opponents had some brilliant matches.

The story of heel Lex Luger turning his back on the friend who trusted Jim and having to rise back up and become a true hero in 97 was fantastic. Great long term, character driven storytelling that was promptly shat all over, but good whilst it was going.

Definitely the one who beat Hogan for the title in 1997.

He's one of the biggest legends in this bus I'll say. Homeboy got his OWN bus! Also yeah, somehow I've always been drawn to All-American Lex Luger, even after SS93 permanently soured that version.

The 2 year span from his return in 95 until the night after dropping the title back to Hogan and not giving a f*** about it, Luger was *perfectly* booked. Like, you really wonder what his career trajectory is had WCW/WWF had figured out the formula earlier.

95-96 Lugar who's a heel unless Sting is watching him.

The Total Package WCW version was better since he had better success, but I actually think The Narcissist did have legs and so the sudden change was a shame IMO, he was working well as a heel.

Work wise it was the 87-90 WCW version. But the 96/97 Lugar had figured out how to be Lex Luger as a top babyface. The matches weren't as good imo but an emotional connection was there. That's more important.

'89 Lex as the arrogant high intensity heel. '96 Lex as the hard working babyface with an edge.
Loved them both.
'92 champion Lex was great too.
WWF versions of Lex were dog shit.
A fun hypothetical alternate history for me is to imagine WCW putting the World title on Lex in '89 instead of riding Flair until the wheels fell off.

Horseman Lex who eventually turned face. They were looking for the replacement for Magnum TA & he was booked very well turning to the Horsemen and eventually breaking away.
