I've liked what I've seen. My biggest complaint is other than the stories the basic outline for each territory is the same: "When you came to Minnesota/Florida/Dallas you had been tough because that's what Verne/Eddie/Fritz & the fans demanded." Like I know you're not gonna get old timers talking about working light to protect themselves or preserve themselves but I would like more about what made the territories different from each other.

Chris Adams seems like a future DSOTR episode.

Used a fork as a weapon during a match when he was told not to. I got the sense that this may be a little bit of revisionist history mixed with exaggeration, considering that over the years, everyone seems to have spoken highly of Bad News until now. He's conveniently not around anymore to give his side of the story. Everyone worked with him after that without issues. Just weird. I don't doubt it happened, but... that Bad News was completely to blame for the end of the territory the way they portrayed it, is a little much.
Didn't Bret & Brown work together in WWF after this? I remember the battle royal where they were both heels and Brown screwed over Bret by eliminating him at the end. But did they work together anymore before or after that in WWF? Kinda funny if you really trying to blame a guy for killing your territory, you wouldn't want to work with him elsewhere, but đź’° đź’µ could have talked them into working together.

Around late 90s early 2000s Bad News had a website. He did commentary much like Tom Zenk where he would put down others in wrestling but nowhere near as bad as Zenk. He had a post about guys holding on to the past and not retiring he specifically mentioned Flair and Bret. I don't think he and Bret liked each other at all. I'm sure Bret did business with Bad News in 88 because he thought it was be his chance as a single's break out. Bad News probably did business feeling it would be his chance at a big time promotion breakout. Wrestling is all about guys doing business with each other if it helps them. Bret got his footage from WWF/E so of course he'll do business with the promotion that his brother died in. Bad News hurting killing his father's territory was nowhere near that bad so he had no problem doing business. I'm sure he greatly dislikes Bad News now because it fits the Tales narrative, whether Bad News was alive to defend or not.

In Bret’s book he talks about not liking him in Stampede and then being upset having to work him in WWF

I just saw the WCCW episode. I'm surprised Jimmy Garvin didn't say much. I knew Kevin and David Manning would be the most talkative, moreso Manning from various things I've seen with him.

It may be hard to do season 2 of this show, but i have enjoyed the hell out of it - primarily because it brings to life some of the personalities and angles i could only read about in the Apter magazines and their competitors.
Growing up in the Mid-Atlantic, my frame of reference was limited to WWWF, JCP/NWA/WCW, UWF Mid South Power Pro (if the ota antenna on the house was cooperating), and much later ECW on wgtw 47 out of Lancaster (again, if the antenna was in a good mood).

I’m surprised there was another guy named Masters with a full Nelson submission.
Is that the inspiration for Chris Masters and the Masterlocke?

Met Chris Matsers at an Indy show earlier this year, actually the day Vince retired. Went with my buddy who is on the spectrum. He excitedly asked if Chris was gonna do the $10,000 Master Lock Challenge. Chris just deadpanned “I don’t have $10,000…..” I asked him about Vince and he basically said “Crazy if true”

Was a Wildkat show months after Masters first run in WWE. Blake is special needs, mentally he is maybe 13 tops. We go over looking at Masters had to sell. Blake asks if he can get a pic with Chris. Chris walks from behind his table. Asks what Blake's name is then asaked him "So Blake you see the Masterlock Challenge?" Blake tells him yes. "Well think you can put me in the Masterlock?" Blake nods yes. So Blake put Chris in the Masterlock,Chris looks over at me winks. I snap the pic. And Masters tells Blake "I tap. You are too tough" And Blake broke the hold.

Chris was in the main event, and you think he’s kind of a hump, WWE didn’t work out for him, but it was amazing how much better he was than the Indy guys. Everything is tight, selling is on point. Reminds me of something I read on Reddit once which was “Do you know how good you have to be to be the worst player in the NBA?!”

Chris Masters/Chris Adonis is a big favorite of mine. Unless he straight-up doesn't want it, I cannot understand why he isn't their world champion, as he's got everything you'd want in a holder of the top belt.

I had road down to the show cause Wildkat had booked Bestia 666 vs Bolt Brady. Masters faced Bu Ku Dao,this was in Dao's maybe 2 year in wrestling. I figured ok this will be a quick squash. But Masters and Dao had a well paced back and forth match, with Dao passing out in teh Masterlock. Then Chris got on the mic hyped up Dao and the crowd went nuts.

Back in 2021 local indie booked Chris Masters, and Ted Dibiase SR,for their annual 2 day big show,Widowfest. Buddy ,who did the King of Wrestling podcast, was working the event as a manager. He talked to Chris backstage and learned that Chris years back got married and his wife is fairly well off. So Masters only wrestles when he wants too. Was told what Masters was asking to work a indie and it was much cheaper than I expected.

The only thing I can think of is get some different people. All the ones they hit were the most popular territories (other than New York, which they aren't going to get). I guess they could do Pensacola maybe? Los Angeles (although that was sort of covered in AWA)? Montreal or Toronto? St. Louis/Kansas City (but are any of those guys still around?)? I did enjoy it though. It was just some fun (well maybe not all) stories. Even if I had heard some of them, I didn't mind hearing them again straight from the people that were there.

They could do Mid South, Continental, Georgia and pre expansion New York next season.

They could do Mid South, Continental, Georgia and pre expansion New York next season. I always forget about Georgia because of it's proximity to Mid-Atlantic and, by the time, I was following it as a kid, JCP had already taken it over. I always think of Georgia and Mid-Atlantic as one in the same and it wasn't prior to 85.
