So I remember doing a thread awhile back on re-booking The Ultimate Warrior's WWF title reign. One of the major flaws that's been pointed out was during his run, he was facing guys his should've been predecessor Hulk Hogan faced(Haku, Ted Dibiase, Mr. Perfect) and a repeat feud with Rick Rude, before ultimately(no pun intended) losing it to Sgt Slaughter at the 1991 Royal Rumble.
Another drawback to his reign was, while Hulk Hogan might've been bombastic and superhero-like, he also came off as human and relatable while The Warrior rarely shown that side of him. I mean check out their talk show interviews. Hogan portrayed himself as a real person, Ultimate Warrior was on Arsenio Hall tearing up the place and was speaking in his usual rants (though he did kinda okay on Regis & Kelly, like somewhere between normal and weird but still managed to keep kayfabe).
Well, here's one of the rare times he's been more laxed and easy to understand.....
Do you think if he acted this way more for cross-over purposes and incorporated that for his on-screen character, he could've been more successful as a long-term main eventer(amongst other things)?

"If you're feeling bad about your life, just remember there's somebody else whose life sucks even more."
Thank you Warrior.
I've been trying to find that Warrior interview from '91. Press conference format. I've only seen it in one place, which was the Warrior doc that came out shortly after his death on WWE Network. He is in full Warrior character, and then he suddenly stops and goes very calm and out of character, but he's still in kayfabe.

They tried this on air too. That's why they did the Amanda Ultimate Warrior segment.

I like how Warrior so casually poo-pooed Randy Savage’s chances against him, basically telling everyone to come out to watch this squash.

"If you're feeling bad about your life, just remember there's somebody else whose life sucks even more." That's not what he said though. It seemed more like he was trying to say that you should look to the less fortunate in times when things look rough, since helping others also helps yourself. At least this was the message that was emphasized a lot when I was younger.

I read this is as "interview at Pride" and about died laughing. Warrior Nation we are live here at Pride and I am morally appalled but physically I am having a great time As my spirit traveled through the cosmos and broke the speed of time and space, my essence manifested in Ancient Greece and I spent time learning the secrets from all of their warriors. Naked and glistening in the sun we explored the limits of our physicality and how to physically dominate our fellow men. And now as I walk through the streets of San Francisco during this parade I can’t help but feel those same Greek warriors all around me and I’m ready to train with them again and take on the phalanx and their probing spears so that I will be able to dominate everyone in the World Wrestling Federation!!!!

I read this is as "interview at Pride" and about died laughing. Much like how my 6-year-old self confused the "Pryde of the X-Men" VHS with "Parade of the X-Men".

I read this is as "interview at Pride" and about died laughing. Same here, though I read it as "Pride Parade" for some dumb reason.

And it looks like a Christmas parade. How ironically appropriate.

That's... interesting.
Had he used this style for his gimmick, it would've been a vast improvement.
I couldn't stand Warrior from Jump street.

They tried this on air too. That's why they did the Amanda Ultimate Warrior segment. I'm aware of that. But that segment was awkward and creepy. A more human-esque Warrior was his promos on The Main Event against Ted Dibiase(who he was facing later in the night) and Randy "Macho Man" Savage(who interfered in that match). He also cut good promos against Savage headed into their Wrestlemania VII showdown. I think if he would've shown that side of him more, his championship reign would've been better and might've gone further in his career. This is all if Hellwig and Vince didn't have a falling out in the summer of 1991. Then there was his 92 run/return with Papa Shango and the High School drama with him, Savage, Ric Flair, and Mr. Perfect before abruptly leaving again. Ironically enough, when he returned in 96, he came off as TOO human. Not to mention he looked out of place in what was suppose to be the New Generation. His departures in 91 and 92 didn't give his character much time to evolve and develope.
