I thought Luger and Bulldog was a good pairing of power wrestlers they could have done more with instead of just two guys teamed up to have some place on the card.
I dunno, to me just felt like a fun tag team that could have had more of a run pre Lex taking off.

The gear worked surprisingly well for Bulldog, not gonna lie, and yeah, considering the two guys involved you'd have expected more to come of it. It's also probably a good thing that the team-up of Disco Inferno/Alex Wright/Tokyo Magnum was in 1998 WCW and not 1995 WWF.

Always liked the story of Owen Hart sandbagging Luger during press-slams, while jumping and coordinating as much as possible with Bulldog.

I would have liked to see Allied Powers in some stiff matches with Hawk and Animal, just to see if they could hang with LOD.

I don't know, their chemistry always felt dodgy at best. They never felt like a team, just two guys who were killing some time teaming up. And as someone who never particularly got into Lex Luger, it just felt like they were wasting Bulldog with it.

I just don't think WWF had the depth at the time to afford having two major stars diddling around a meh tag division.

It was basically a team like Austin and Pillman who weren't doing anything at the time and were thrown together and I'm sure we can think of more examples. That theme song though were damn awesome!

If only they had a French buddy to complete the trio, they could have had an epic feud vs. an axis of Alex Wright, Hakushi and Sal Bellomo.
...But really, wasn't the long term for Davey to turn heel and fight Lex during Fall of 1995 to rejuvenate both as solos? Then puffy shirt ended up on Nitro and the bizarre one ended up with his blonde brother-in-law for a great run.

I guess they taped a segment for Superstars of Davey Boy helping Mabel (who he was sort of allied with as he was involved when Davey turned heel on Diesel) beat down Luger. However after Luger bolted and showed up on Nitro they didn't air it. Most likely they were going to do Davey and Luger at IYH 3. Instead they had Bulldog beat Bigelow which made sense as they were building Bulldog up to challenge Diesel for the title and Bigelow was friends with Diesel in storyline. It's really interesting to think what would've happened with Luger if he didn't leave. He likely loses the feud to Bulldog and then what? Probably just continues to flounder aimlessly before likely turning heel sometime in 96. Jumping to WCW was definitely a really good career move for him. They used him so much better and it really breathed new life into him.

It felt like a step up for Bulldog but a huge step down for Luger. You could practically see them switching places on the card. Luger opening a WrestleMania in a tag match was such a neon sign that they'd lost faith in him.

They looked the business. I wish Davey had gotten a main event face push with this look .
