This is the opposite to the thread on plotholes. What were times when WWF/E or any wrestling company remembered it's past?
Stephanie McMahon's Heel Turn - While the Higher Power Angle was one huge convoluted mess, it did lead to Stephanie turning on her father 6 months after the reveal. For months The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness was tormenting Vince's only daughter, even kidnapping her, and almost marrying her until "Stone Cold" Steve Austin cleared out the ring from Taker's goons and saved the day.
However, the idea of wreaking havoc on her and The McMahon Family wasn't Taker's idea. Oh no, he was taking orders from a source greater than him and it would be revealed to the World on the June 7th, 1999 edition of RAW. It turned out to be Mr. McMahon himself. It was him all along. This was to get into The Texas Rattlesnake's head, and to get the WWF championship off of him(despite The Rock being champion when these mind games started, but continuity be damned).
Later that year, The Chairman returned on screen(despite vowing to never appear again after Austin won a match against Taker for that to happen) to stop Triple H from bullying the entire locker room(how ironic), which by default would make him a babyface. He even screwed him out of the WWF title at Survivor Series.
Meanwhile, The Billion Dollar Princess was in an on-screen relationship with Test(more on that in a minute) and were set to marry on the November 28th edition of RAW. However, that wedding was interrupted by Triple H because he married her first(only in wrestling can marrying someone first be a contest). This was due to drugging her up and pretending she agreed to do via drive thru.
This lead to a match between Mr. McMahon and his new son-in-law Triple H at Armageddon(shouldn't it have been Test vs. Triple H at the PPV?). The Game ended up victorious, and then after the match, Stephanie aligned herself with Hunter. The next night on RAW, Stephanie explained her actions due to everything her dad put her through earlier in the year. I mean, going by logic, instead of booing her(even though she was later effective in her role), the fans should've been behind her. I mean, would you forgive your father if he put you through what Vince put Stephanie through?
Another layer of continuity was when T&A(Test and Albert) were made their(Stephanie and Triple H) henchmen and Test wasn't too keen on that, mainly due to snatching his bribe-to-be away from her. Even when both were heels, they never exactly got along.
Any other examples of continuity in wrestling that you recall?
