Hmmmm...I like this topic....
In 1996 ECW. Taz had turned heel, and attacked 911 just before he was to be part of a match with the Eliminators. At the time, they were still being managed by Jason Knight, and while Fonzie shook Jason's hand, Taz wanted nothing to do with him (he previously feuded with Jason's stable, as he managed Dean Malenko, with whom Taz feuded with for the TV title then later the tag team titles. Then, after Taz came back from his neck injury, Jason took advantage during a six man tag and embarassed Taz by being the one to pin him)
This was just before the WWF was in high gear of "every wrestler who signs with us gets a reboot, we don't mention his history, etc." as the Hulkamania Era was in progress. Greg Valentine and Roddy Piper had both joined the company of course, and were seen together in I think a Piper's Pit segment. During which Valentine mentions that he had a complicated history with Piper, but respected him now.
After Mania 7, Randy Savage as a color commentator still acted heelish, mostly, but still refused to talk during Ted DiBiase matches because Sherri was his manager now. He was especially hard on Warrior, for obvious reasons.
Roddy Piper, despite his face turn, doesn't trust Hulk Hogan, and vice versa. When they tag, it's cause they had to, note the dirty looks they share when tagging out and Piper doesn't stick around for the Hogan posedown celebration. This helped make Andre's turn more of a big deal, as when he did was the first time Piper sympathizes with Hogan, even acts like a friend.

Here’s another one. Bobby Heenan sells Hercules’ contract to Dibiase much to Herc’s chagrin. This was the beginning of Hercules’ face turn.
Two years later, Hercules is a heel again and is now aligned with Paul Roma and Slick. During one show, Boss Man handcuffs Bobby to the barricade (and I can only imagine the conversations the fans had with Heenan. I wonder if he kept kayfabe.) Anyway, the threesome make their way to ringside. Only Paul and Slick try to help Bobby but not Hercules who gives Bobby an angry glare that says “I never forgot what you did to me nor can I forgive.”
A year later, during a MSG house show match between Paul Roma and Animal with Hercules at ringside, Bobby and Gorilla have this conversation:
Bob: “Hercules looks bigger than ever.”
Gorilla: “He has had a lot more to eat now since he’s out of your clutches.”

During one of the early AEW PPVs, Jericho was in the main event and Dean Malenko was announced as a judge or time keeper or something and Jericho lost his shit, got out of the ring to go yell at him

To add to this thread, the night after he won the WWF championship at the 1998 Survivor Series, The Rock mentioned in a promo on how the fans chanted "Die Rocky Die" at him and that it never forgot that.

Yea, Piper and Hogan had respect, but were uneasy allies at best. The Andre turn, Piper gives up all of his animosity and realizes that Hulk is a human. And he's hurt, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It's an amazing moment.

Just recently finished WCW 1996 so the Piper stuff is fresh on my mind.
NWO, including DiBiase/Vincent comes out to confront Piper, and Piper keeps interjecting that he taught Vincent how to fight.
Also, Kevin Sullivan casting the demon of Akeem out of the One Man Gang, which made him insane.

When he joined the SES, Luke Gallows was acknowledged as Festus. Punk claimed his previous zombie-like state was due to addiction that had been pushed on him. The pusher was implied to be Festus' former partner Jesse who was released before it could be followed up on.

Oddly paired with one of the WORST continuity gaffes of Vincent going back to DiBiase upon joining the NWO. And I still want to see proof that the exorcism thing happened. Maybe that should be in the White Whale thread of lost footage.

When Sid returned to the WWF in 1995, they mentioned that he spent the past 3 years in a mental institution, thus explaining his disappearance after Wrestlemania 8, going along with his psychotic character, and possibly getting in a shot at WCW.

Bobby Heenan at Bash at the Beach ‘96. Everyone zeroes in on “whose side is he on” but many forget his reaction in the immediate aftermath: “What have I been saying all these years? Huh? What have I been saying?” When Hogan and Heenan were in WWE together, The Brain kept telling people what a piece of garbage Hogan was; on this night, Heenan was correct. Right before the interview that closed the show, Bobby quietly said, “I told you so.” This is why the "Whose side is he on" line never bothered me and I never really thought about it spoiling anything until much later. It fit that Heenan had zero trust in Hulk Hogan.

Ric Flair's title reigns list. From 1993-on, all the companies counted the NWA/WCW and WWF reigns alike. (there's the ones that happened off of TV, but another story for another day)
Ric Flair and Randy Savage's feud carrying over into WCW. It started by Flair getting involved with the Vader stuff, then him attacking Macho's dad, but Flair did bring up the Elizabeth storyline early on without being specific. Then Liz actually came back, and, well, we know...
I was ready to say Warrior and Piper outing who the Disciple really was...but that was actually also a BAD example (as last time we saw Ed Leslie, he was being rejected/beat down by the NWO at Hog Wild)
Madusa and Luna having issues across companies.
A missed opportunity, but it works if you consider it unsaid: Missy Hyatt taking over Sandman's management = revenge at last on Woman/Robin Green. Although Missy actually didn't do anything to Woman directly to get that. (that angle did have a kind of continuity nod, though...it was the segment where Stevie sues Missy for sexual harassment, then Raven offers himself to her instead, and she rejects. Just like Scotty the Body never got his date with Missy back in Memphis as he kept failing her and Eddie Gilbert)
The Royal Rumble '92 had LOTS of ex-Flair adversaries going after him in the match.

Punk taking on Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 27, claiming revenge for Orton costing Punk his first world title. Even though it does follow continuity, there wasn't any logic to it. First, this was in September 2008, an entire 2 1/2 YEARS earlier when the feud started, why couldn't he seek revenge right then and there? It's not like there was anything stopping him since they were both worked for the company this entire time. Also, they switched alignments by then(Orton and his goons attacked Punk when they were heels while he was a face), we're suppose to boo Punk for being ambushed and wanting revenge for it? SMH.
