When he was first introduced, wasn’t he called UPN Network Executive, Palmer Cannon?
I don’t think he was. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway, this character was introduced in September 2005. A few months later, UPN and the WB announced they would merge to form the CW. Now, by the time the CW launched, Palmer Cannon left but if he stayed, I wonder how long he would have that gimmick. I know he would have feuded with the Miz. He even did a promo by saying “the network doesn’t endorse Mike Mizannin.” That would mean that the Miz would have been the face in the feud. We all know Miz debuted as a face and failed miserably.
I just find it ironic that this storyline started just before the merger was announced and continued until 2006 when UPN and WB affiliates were preparing to switch.

When was his last appearance? I remember he was prominent in late-2005 to sometime in early-to-mid-2006. Granted, after the WB/UPN merger into The CW, the character would have needed a change. Hell, back in 2005 that whole angle felt similar to what happened five years prior (in 2000) in ECW with "The Network." I recall WWE getting under some kind of hot water because of the Muhammad Hassan angle in 2005. Why did I mention it? Because it was clear that UPN was doing something with their WWE deal. One example was moving Smackdown to Fridays, as they believed that ratings would drop because of it.
Anyway, back to the topic, wasn't Palmer Cannon a face when he was paired with Teddy Long? Then I had heard that he was hazed by JBL backstage.

I remember reading that he was hazed by JBL. Don't recall if JBL was particularly hard on him or he just took it harder than many, but he literally quit in the middle of a European tour and flew home on his own dime.
For some reason, Palmer Cannon was beloved by the bookers even though the fans didn't care about him. I remember reading one story about just before Smackdown came back from a break, they played the Undertaker's music - he'd been out for a while and fans wanted him to come back - and then brought out Palmer Cannon. The show came back from break as the fans were booing the bait and switch - they'd wanted it to seem like Cannon had nuclear heat. I think there were other stories about WWE trying to use smoke and mirrors to make it seem like Cannon was this huge deal megaheel as opposed to his 'irritated disinterest' level heat. It was also said that a WWE executive actually flew back from the European tour after Cannon to try and beg him to come back when he quit.

Remember Jamie Noble and Kid Kash as the Pitbulls? I heard the reason they dropped the name and team was because Pitbull #1 Gary Wolf sued.🤦♂️

Probably one of the weirdest points in Smackdown's history and that's saying a lot. They literally made some random jacked blonde boy in a suit one of the main antagonists on Smackdown. Damn he's like Cody Rhodes if no one gave a shit about his family.

The sexual innuendo name wasn't beneficial, but it's too bad the Smackdown locker room was allowed to be so toxic.

I also think that back in the mid-aughts, WWE was trying to bring back gimmicks in wrestlers.

Wasn't the whole joke about the name being that it was "PC" in initials? Like, WWE being its usual self and huffing and puffing about political correctness, despite that not really usually being their issue. Like, the Parents Television Council is definitely not some kind of progressive voice, nor were they ever.

Man, this brings back memories.
I remember thinking he was super cute, and then being pissed when I heard that he quit b/c of JBL.

Another young male that JBL seemed to be very interested in. Benoit too I believe. From everything I heard he was fairly well liked but he was just tired of the crap JBL and Benoit would do. Pretty sure a few wrestlers who were on Smacksown at the time said they wished they put a stop it that cause it went further than regular hazing

I remember my relatives lived in Atlanta during this time period & they used to send me Deep South Wrestling tapes. Palmer Cannon was very different on DSW TV. He was an extremely horny character that was using his stroke at the network to get laid by Angelina Love, Kristal Marshall & all the rest of the women there.
I remember a segment with Angelina where he explains the origins of his first name while trying to grab her boobs until Freakin’ Deacon shows up. It was very odd & completely different from WWE’s version of this character.
