Which was bigger in terms of the build up? Nr.1! And Nr.2 buyrate. And Nr.3 which had the bigger Impact overall on the Company?
1. I would say that Cena/Rock had the bigger Story going in the Match! It was build around for over 1 Year and didn't got boring.
2. Cena vs Rock made WM 28 the biggest Ever in terms of Buyrates! Idk about Rock/Hogan if they would have Main Event!
3. Rock vs Hogan had easly the bigger Impact in the long run for the Business. The Match is for many the most Legendary ever.

Rock/Hogan is a spectacle that shows what pro wrestling is all about visually and with crowd interaction, not sure if anyone would get that reaction anymore.

Cena/Rock, for its faults, was a way less stupid build, but that was largely since WWE was really trying to cram a lot in between No Way Out and 'Mania that year.
As for buy rate, hard to tell without relative numbers to compare. I don't know that kind of thing off-hand.
As for which holds up more and has a bigger impact, it's probably Hogan vs Rock, but we also have considerably more time to compare, plus it's just the one match, since even if you don't count stuff like Cena vs Miz that were directly part of the storyline, you still have both the first and second match. Judging one without the other isn't really going to give you the complete effect, versus how you can much more easily disregard most anything but the match itself with Hogan/Rock.

1.) Cena/Rock. Easily.
2.) There’s gotta be a concrete answer for this but not surprised if it’s Rock Vs Cena.
3.) I mean..financially, maybe Cena/Rock. The answers probably Cena/Rock.
If you’d said “biggest impact in the industry” as opposed to “company” than Hogan/Rock wins hands down I’d say.

For me personally, Hogan/Rock and it isn’t even close. I get all the reasons that Rock/Cena is a big deal, but I just didn’t give a shit. Some of the build was fun, but I didn’t feel like I needed to see it. I felt that way with Rock/Hogan.

Both are amazing matches.
Rock/Cena I'm pretty sure is the biggest buy rate ever.
I think Rock VS Hogan is the better over all match, & had a bigger impact on the business. It showed WWE that there's something to nostalgia acts.

Rock v Hogan by a mile for me. It’s one of the most memorable matches ever.
Rock v Cena for as big as it was was pretty meh both times and pretty unmemorable. Both men have much bigger and more memorable rivalries.

Some of the build was fun, but I didn’t feel like I needed to see it. I felt that way with Rock/Hogan. I have been wondering some lately why it worked like it did, and I think part of it was that Hogan looked the most comfortable he'd been in forever. WWE knew how to work with him, and presented him in a way where it was easy to just totally forget what an embarrassment a lot of his late WCW stuff was. They just brought him in like it was 1998 all over again, and fans were happy to go along with it. Man, it shows how stagnant WWE got for a time. 1998 to 2002 is 4 years, but it felt like a lifetime then, and still does now. It's getting to be like that again with how wild the past couple of years have been for the industry as a whole, but compare it to how samey so much of the 2010s could be, how years passed with so little actually changing.

Rock/Cena (both times) did titanic business but the only thing anyone remembers about them is Rock getting hurt the second time around.
Hogan/Rock had a crummy build and wasn’t the main event so it couldn’t even claim the buy rate it did do…but the crowd and the amazing performing instincts of Hogan & Rock to change the whole thing up on the spot made it an actual Wrestlemania Moment.

Rock/Hogan was the main event, the promotion for the show was totally built around it.

Both were really fun matches. The Rock/Cena build wasn’t flawless, but Cena never hijacked a mack truck and plowed into a trailer with Rock inside of it only for Rocky to blow it off later. So, slight edge to Cena/Rock I guess.
