It was fantastic, a proper butcher's market out there with all that meat slapping. Sheamus got the more organic reaction compared to Drew which was well deserved, buts it crazy that they both f***ing lost. The McIntyre stuff is going to be well-trodden ground over the next few days into weeks into months. As it relates to Sheamus, though, I feel Gunther needed this match and this win just as much as Sheamus did. He's been booked decently strong on the main roster so far, but he'd lost a lot of what made him special in that process. I'd argue this was the first time since he left NXT UK that we had the proper Ring General on show in the territory. I don't feel like Sheamus was damaged by the loss at all, because the story of this match felt so much more like "Oh, you forgot how good I am when I'm in my element, did you?", but he just got beaten by someone younger than him who is fresh off getting into the best shape of his WWE tenure. You can run a rematch because you can run the story of the older vet reaching down deep into his pool of experience and reaching that "You may beat me on most nights, but on this night, I could still beat anybody."

I do absolutely agree with all the Gunther points, and to be honest in hindsight, the ovation Sheamus got (despite losing) justified the booking in that regard but it's madness it came on the same night they booked that finish for Drew. Not only that, but I've only just processed that Finn was on the card and that he lost too! Being fair, you hear the reactions Edge got? Balor could’ve been from f***ing Mongolia for all anybody cared.

I have no issue with Sheamus losing. Gunther needs it more, and Sheamus was really well showcased. I don't remember enjoying a match of his more than this one.

The very definition of a hoss battle. Just punch and chop the crap out of each other until one can't get up in time. Great match.

That felt like they were teasing Butch & Ridge heel turns to me. Either that or WWE has made me way too cynical. Sheamus was only a babyface for this match, so got to see if it sticks or if it was a one off

And for the most part, the crowd played along with the heel/face dynamics all night outside of cheering Bayley and doing sing a long with Seth

I hate everything about Walter's presentation on the main roster - the name change, the generic-ass theme, the fact that IMO he's not scary anymore since he lost all that weight. So I was very pessimistic going into this match. And yet I found myself saying "holy shit this is great" by about the halfway point. Just an absolutely wonderful, brutal hoss fight.

For as much as Eddie Kingston loves biting the 4 Pillars All Japan style, Gunther does it so much better and effortlessly. Eddie wrestles like a less refined Tenryu. And Tenryu was that "refined" in the first place.

I trued to watch this ppv as I was bored yesterday.
I tried to enjoy this match but so many things I hated in wwe remain. The CONSTANT cuts, why aren't they gone? The horribly cheesy commentary "SHAEMUS SAID HE WAS GOING TO SHOW GUNTER THE BELLY OF THE RED BEAST!"
It was probably a good match but in the wwe presentation it just didn't do anything for me
On a side note I hadn't watched wwe for a few years but during the slow part where gunter just kept knocking sheamus down I thought to myself I bet he randomly no sells a couple yp fight back...its weird how a few years away amd they still have their go-to spots in certain match types lol

This match felt way more like the main event than Roman/Drew because it didn't feel like it had a foregone conclusion.
Also it made me a Gunther fan now, which is a plus.

That felt like they were teasing Butch & Ridge heel turns to me. Either that or WWE has made me way too cynical. I hope not. What makes you think that? I really like them as a trio. It seems like they are really having a blast being together and comes off like they really genuinely pals. I loved that promo from Sheamus too. Makes me really want him to win the title at some point as it comes off like it's really important to him since it's the only thing he hasn't won.

I agree they should keep this group going & turn them face
