That was an amazing match. I've always liked the Acclaimed but thought their ringwork let them down a little but they made me eat my words tonight. I didn't know they had a match like that in them. The crowd definitely helped and Lee/Swerve played the heels to their babyfaces perfectly. It would have been perfect for the Acclaimed to win but I can't be mad that they didn't. On Wednesday I didn't think they stood a chance or were ready for it and I don't think AEW could have predicted how that match went. Really mirrors my own thoughts. You can't go with the hot hand if you didn't know it was hot until halfway through the match. This. Like I am sure by the end where Acclaimed almost won the match twice (Which seemed planned for Khan to get them very over by the end and want the crowd to see a rematch) he had his head in his hands like "Oh f***, they were already there!?", and will run it back accordingly.

It was a phenomenal match but they really should have pulled the trigger on the Acclaimed. Also the crowd did not want the respect angle post match at all.

Have people not been watching the show and seeing how mega over the acclaimed have been for ages now? Ok ok yes they've been over on the live shows, the act has been over on the live shows, but so were Lee and Swerve There was zero indication going in that it would be THAT f***ing lopsided. Like at all. Live crowds loved Swerve and really loved Lee... they got f***ing torn to shreds worse than Ruby did with Statlander in their match... just "Here's where you realize where they stand in the fan pecking order" type of shit. Yeah like let's not pretend that Swerve and Lee aren't insanely over themselves. The match and the build was clearly supposed to be to give the Acclaimed a serious edge and to make them serious. Like for as loved as they were nobody legit thought the crowd would hijack Keith Lee's chant with "Oh Scissor Me Daddy" Like you could tell everybody involved was caught off guard by the crowd

Completely disagree. Every single time i've gone and seen aew live over the last few months, they got some of the most cheers of the night and that was working with the gunn club of all people. On tv or not, they've been ready, gotten the crowd behind them and besides, most people are expecting one of swerve in our glory to turn now for a while. It is simply a bad call by TK.

Dude they were and are over but no one expected a literal fan mutiny for them over Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland, especially Keith Lee Like I think they planned on this being the moment they made Acclaimed and justified the rematch with how close they got. I didn't think they'd be so ahead of schedule, Keith and Swerve needed to work the match heel instead of neutral. It wasn't a bad call imo, but they need to give them the belts at Ashe

Following the Punk portion of the media scrum, Swerve certainly shared some loud thoughts as well.

The Acclaimed is ready, brother. Dudes losing made the crowd so mad they were like STOP SCISSORING KEITH AND f***ING KILL HIM.

If I was sitting in the guerilla position, I probably would have pulled an audible and put the straps on The Acclaimed, but after tonight's performance I feel like you absolutely have to pull the trigger on the title change at "Grand Slam"

The Acclaimed are the DIY of AEW. I know that's gonna come off like a little strained of a comparison, but it makes sense in my head. It makes sense to me. But…who is the Bobby Roooooooo of this analogy and does this mean the return of “Glorious Bombing?” Daddy Ass, of course!

Loving Swerve in Our Glory's current dynamic. At the scrum Lee was being really respectful and Swerve a complete asshole and it was really entertaining.

I am honestly cool with the ending we got because I would way rather get 2 matches instead of just once. That, and you're crowning 6-man champions, an interim women's champion, and having the world title change hands on one show. It's fine to save something for later.

As we all suspected, the next big thing that takes a talent (or a pair of talents) to levels of superstardom is... *puts on glasses and checks notes* "Scissor me, Daddy Ass".
It takes all kinds, I suppose.

Random aside I've been thinking for awhile and this feels like a good spot for it, I really want the Gunn Club to bring in Chuck Palumbo to back them up.
