Eight weeks from now I am going to Florida for the first time and I could use some good recommendations.
I have a 2 day park hopper ticket to Disneyworld which will be the only amusement park I will be going to. The others I am saving for my next visit.
There is no need to recommend places to eat as I always stay at Airbnb's with a kitchen as I prefer to eat in since I travel alone.
Neither am I much of a traditional city tourist, preferring only to stick to things exclusive to the city I am in. I find that beyond that most big cities worldwide are pretty much the same.
I do like to clothes shop, though, in stores that are most likely to sell things it is hard to find others wearing. Store chains that are featured nation-wide just are not much fun. Used clothing stores/markets can also unearth some pretty cool finds.
One thing I love collecting is used paperbacks in the horror genre, which is very difficult to find in countries English is not the native language. It is one of my favorite aspects of visiting the US.
Public transportation is my bread and butter when I travel and would love any tips you might have about the city's transit system. Rather than walking more than necessary, I hope there are electric kick scooters easily accessible; the kind you can pick up at one destination and rent short term and park at your destination. Bicycle shops do have scooters for rent, of course, but that makes you too responsible for them, better, the ones you can use sporadically, upon need.
I will be staying in Kissimee. The plan is to take a train from there to Orlando. Uber back and forth to Disneyland I have budgeted for.
I love alligators (as well as crocodiles) and would like to hear about the best options Orlando has when it comes to interacting with the creatures. I traveled the bayous of New Orleans once upon a time on an airboat tour and would love to do the same on Florida's swamp land.
In Dallas I spent a few hours at the gun range and would love to do it again. What are the best options in Orlando based on price and the number of arms available? I did only 9mm last time and hope to be a little less timid this time around.
I appreciate any advice on Orlando you guys might come up with.
