Been seeing her for a year along with a therapist.
I've recently realized my interest in her and have reached a point where its gotten harder to not want to express it.
My therapist is due to leave at the end of the month and I thought about leaving but my social worker wants me to stay.
Yet I still find myself liking her a lot and even looking at her body more.
I feel like shit writing this but its how I feel.

Puts them in such an uncomfortable position and potentially harms how they feel in their field and interact with other clients. I'm not trying to single you out, but this is something nobody should ever do. It could get so much worse for absolutely everyone involved. DO NOT PURSUE THIS. Are you sure it's a crush or just a deep appreciation for human kindness? Either way, absolutely nothing good can come from this at all. |

Oh god I've been there...I used to take the piss out of friends who had similar experiences, but it is no laughing matter. A friend of mine once crushed on a special needs tutor in college and when he found out about her husband, it held him back by about a year while the rest of the class moved ahead.
I was out of college when it happened to me, but I was trying to wing my way into University or at least secure a job prospect, I started calling her 'sweetheart' in passing in conversation and felt embarrassed afterwards. She never said anything, and before long she stopped seeing me, but that was more because my social care system tended to have a revolving door where they would change every few months. Thankfully nothing escalated, but yeah I was not in a good place when all this was happening.

I have a crush on my counselor too. She is pretty and kind, but that is all it will ever be and I am okay with that. I won't tell her because that would make things weird and maybe make her uncomfortable. That said, I think I end up getting a crush on any random pretty lady I see when ever I go out, which isn't much these days. Of course, I could always write a poem about them and post it on FAN.  |

I’m with the majority here, you shouldn’t act on this. She would need to remain professional at all times, and regardless of your feelings she could ruin her career if she pursued this herself.
Is she married, do you know? Engaged? Boyfriend? Gay? We’ve all fallen for that person where it’s never meant to be, but under the social worker/client (apologies if that’s not the term) it can’t happen. I’m sorry to sound harsh, but you need to let this go.

And if she's unethical enough to be receptive, that's basically an enormous red flag, and you really don't need to be around someone like that. The only winning move is not to play here. The hell if I know anything about the human mind, but please don't mistake kindness and compassion as reasons to find romantic interests. It could be that receiving kindness gives you feelings of romance because you don't regularly experience direct kindness (I'm assuming).

Don't ask, Don't get This would be a horrible breech of professional ethics and possibly illegal for the SW to engage in. You should probably consider working with another SW if possible because the only action that will end well is you ignoring your feelings, and that's not healthy either. Not in the sense that you should pursue this, you shouldn't, but if it's interfering with the work you do with your SW that's limiting your opportunity to expand and grow as a person as well. |
