www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdPhP1QfXEIHyping their 1992 Survivor Series Intercontinental Title match that never happened. Probably the two funniest interview guys in the company at the time although in Bulldog's case it wasn't intended. "Wait a minute! Bo Derek." lol I also love them saying Mountie is in Toronto and Bulldog is in London even in actuality they were likely five feet away from each other in some studio.

It makes me wonder what plans they had for Davey's IC run before he got fired. I can't imagine Mountie would have won the belt, so perhaps Bulldog would have gone into 1993 as champ. Michaels was a real rising star throughout 1992 and seemed destined for that belt at some point soon and with Jannetty returning you've got to think they'd have wanted that belt on Michaels pretty sharpish to put added heat on that feud.
I also wonder if there was any lingering heat between Davey and Jacques over the whole Rougeaus/Bulldogs incident?

Nothing. He won the belt because they booked the show at Wembley. It was going to Shawn sooner or later because the build had been for a Shawn/Bret IC program. That changed slightly in October obviously but Davey Boy was not in the long term plans.

Perhaps they already decided they wanted to blow off Shawn Vs Bret at Survivor Series.

Shawn can still beat Marty at the rumble and Bulldog maybe becomes the iron man in the rumble.

I know they didn't really have the capacity to do this as they were spread thin, but a main event of:
Savage, Warrior, Bret and Bulldog vs Flair, Perfect, Razor and Michaels would have been brilliant.
Then Shawn vs Bulldog at Royal Rumble with Marty returning in the lead up to Wrestlemania.

Savage, Warrior, Bret and Bulldog vs Flair, Perfect, Razor and Michaels would have been brilliant. I love this idea. However, considering the injury, drug, ego and contract dispute histories of some of those in the lineup, I'd give about a 40% chance of everyone actually appearing as advertised.

Perhaps they already decided they wanted to blow off Shawn Vs Bret at Survivor Series. It was strange they didn't do Shanw/Davey Boy and Bret/Papa Shango at Survivor Series as those were the two feuds at the time. Instead they did both on the last SNME prior to the PPV. Bret and Shawn as a feud was cold at that point as they were prorgrammed through the spring and most of the summer and were both involved in different programs come Survivor Series. As odd as it sounds it hindsight Shango actually was probably a more credible threat against Bret and seen as a more credible PPV title challenger then Shawn at that point as they hadn't started jobbing him out yet and he had a very imposing monster heel look. Mountie had been booked as a joke character since losing to Piper earlier in the year so him being scheduled to get a IC Title shot on PPV is strange. He had a lower midcard program with Slaughter coming out of Mania that petered out quick and really wasn't much of a featured player at all by that point.
