TNA Unbreakable took place...featuring, in most people's minds, the greatest match in company history!

TNA Unbreakable took place...featuring, in most people's minds, the greatest match in company history! I would 100% agree. In a company that really didn't have the best matches, this stands out above the rest. I'd add Angle/Joe 1, the Angle/McGinnis series, Low Ki/Sabin BFG 2006, the earlier Jerry Lynn/Styles/Low Ki stuff to some of their best stuff also. But, like WCW, most of it really was lackluster in ring wise.

I was majorly disappointed with the Turning Point Triple Threat. It feels like the Shield Triple Threat from Battleground 16. It had the chance to be fantastic, but just fell short for me.

Another recent one to add, would be Alexander vs. Shelley at Emergence last month.

So old I recorded it on VHS off the wrestling channel, admittedly after most people stopped using them, might still have it actually.

Ah, the end of that summer '05 run when D'Amore had started booking and just did a bunch of solid stuff up and down the card...and was then promptly made to go back to TNA-ing it up once they debuted on Spike.

TNA around this time was amazing.
If it was up to me, I'd revamp Impact back to TNA and bring back the 6 sided ring and all the stuff we used to love about it.

The six sided ring was iconic, but it was also stiff as f*** to bump on and probably contributed to injuries and years taken off dudes careers. The four sided ring was far more popular with wrestlers.

D'Amore has always been the special sauce for TNA/Impact. The times when the company was actually good or critically praised were when D'Amore was in charge. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The funny thing is the only reason that ring even existed is because it got TNA toys into toy stores. According to Jeff Jarrett some toy store executive liked the look of it and said they would pick up their toy line strictly because the 6 sided ring play set was different.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Late '09 TNA with, of all people, Russo doing a lot of the booking was great, but that was when they were a few months off from Hogan coming in so it was another "go do whatever, we're gonna do a soft reboot in a little bit, anyway" that turned into "Oh my God, good wrestling and storylines that aren't trying so hard to get 'mainstream' attention by being dumb!", with stuff like Nigel vs. Angle and Joe vs. AJ for the title. I'll even say the first couple of months of Hogan-fied TNA had some good stuff (I have a memory of Against All Odds 2010 being a good show), but we all know how that wound up.
